The Velvet Lounge is one of my favorites in San Fran. DJs rock!!! They have wide range of beats......Make sure you dress up, bro. The place is a bit hight end and proper attire is enforced.

Santa Clara/San Jose clubs suck! They are either yuppies or thugs.

WHat kind of music do you like? What kind of scene are you into?
    Regular clubs/sex clubs?

Been in the area for a quite a few years, and am well versed in the club scene.

Stay away from club X in San Fran
Try the Glass Cat in SF
Try 1015 (one of the hottest ones).

More details needed, to give you specific direction. :)

The "trendy/yuppie" clubs would be the direction that I am leaning towards, and if there are any decent strip clubs that would work too.

For strip clubs look in Little Italy in San Fran. Roaring 20s/Hustler. There are about 15 strip clubs in a row.

While there, grab a bite to eat at the Stinking Rose or the restaurant right across from it (went there on Valentine's day, but name escapes me at this late hour).

It is a club where you can either hold a yearly membership (high quality ones) or pay per visit (lower quality ones). Most of them you have to be a couple and have to go through stringent separate interviews. Larger ones have 200-300 couples on a given night, and you can stay over. Smaller ones can have 20 couples. They are hosted in various locations, from ranch houses, to hotels, to people's houses. As far as ages go, there are people in there 50s there as well. There are not too many younger people, but I would say the average age is anywhere between 29-34. You see many couples in their early 30s, as that age range seems to make up the vast majority of members.

You can go there and have sex with your significant other. You can go in closed rooms, where it is just you and her. You can go in open areas where you can have other people watch. You can also participate with other couples. You can just do light groping and flirting with other couples, or you can do full swaps, depending on your time in this lifestyle and your comfortability.

There are also theme rooms, like dungeons, saunas, pools, one way mirror rooms, swings, hot tubs, and such. You can pick where you want to go and jump around. There are also couches where you can sit around and not do anything but watch other people.

The larger clubs also have a separate dancing area, to get loosened up and have a good time. The larger ones also offer buffet food arrangements but you bring your own alchocol. THey tend to have their bars, where they will mix your drink for you.

Prices vary, and usually if you know someone in these clubs they can tell you what is good and what to stay away from. They are spread all over the US, and the larger ones work similar to a large network of chain stores.

For further questions, let me know.

    Yes.

    I am sorry to hear.
