    I guess these will be the much anticipated D800 and D4 to replace the D700 & D3(x/s) that Nikon Rumours have been mentioning for the past few years?

    I feel like the new models are getting trendy. There are some amazingly good models that have come out in the last couple years, but at the rate they are coming out, we never get used to any one model. Whatever happened to the simple days where the D50 was enough for 95% of amateur photographers out there?

    When the most part of the crop has full size sensors and at least 16 mega pix and prices out below $2,000.00.....I believe the the digital race will be over...You cant take a better pic than with that combo..

    Then we go on to Holographic photography...no paper , just picture..

    If they can do better than the D3S in a 35mm format, wow.

    Most sensor technology is still lagging behind film in dynamic range. Medium format and larger outperform 35mm and smaller, but I think that's merely a function of the better sensitivity afforded by larger pixels.
