Hey guys I realise this has been discussed ad nauseum somewhat but can't find a solid answer. So the 348 from the factory, uses a Champion A6G, long since discontinued.. This plug actually uses the wrench which was included in the tool kit of 16 mm. Most folks universally agree that the best replacement plug is an NGK DR8EIX. However this plug uses an 18 mm socket. Does anyone know of a suitable replacement plug which would use the oem use the OEM 16 mm size wrench?

Hmm... I don't actually have one to check but people have reported that it is 16mm and they also have reported that the tool kit comes with a 16mm. My tool kit is actually from A 512TR and is missing! I bought tool kit cheap off eBay it's very very similar to the 348 actually has a few extra tools and an extra set of long screwdrivers but otherwise it's the same. Bound and determined to figure out what size socket truly truly goes with the 348 tool kit that really is my goal.

So here is the big mystery I'm trying to solve. Even though I have A 512TR toolkit it is the same exact part number for the spark plug wrench which is 137753. Mine is missing but I have bought multiple 18 mm sockets.....none come close to fitting in the bin. I have read that the A6G plug is in fact 14 mm which would fit in the bin?

Dang....Just doesn't make sense. An 18mm plug wrench simply does not fit in the tool kit bin. I'm going to just buy the correct plug wrench from euro spares and go from there. Maybe it has an ultra thin wall to fit in the bin? Thanks for the help.

Thank you....mystery solved....It's also a bit longer than a typical plug wrench as well.

17mm is the nearest metric equivalent 11/16” (since it says “nit-picky” in the title;))
