Has anybody installed NOS on a carbed 308, I want to enter my GT4 in Drift competition.Cruising around slow is not for me,Having a Ferrari and not entering it in local racing is a shame, so i was thinking install like a windshield washer sprayer to spray on the rear tires to loosen the grip and spray the NOS so i can powerslide sideways a few inches from the wall. That would be fun! I was thinking a fogger nozzel under each carb with a wet system. Anybody out there done this before? THanks

You wouldn't use nitrous that way as you would need to be constantly spraying and run a high risk of damage.

To install nitrous on a carb you would have to drill and tap each inlet manifold and fit a nozzle in each one, on a Gt4 you could go up to 100hp jets but with the engine being old I would go around 50hp jets, maybe even 75hp.

On Efi its easier as you can just put the one into the inlet manifold.

Your best bet is to go for one of the supercharger or turbo options which are popping up on here at a regular basis.

I removed the nitrous from mine (although I partially installed it and never actually used it) to go for the supercharger option in a years time.

    Hope this helps Pete:)

Thanks Pete, yesterday as it started to drizzle i noticed how extremely easy it is to just goose the throttle and have the car powerslide, thats where my idea of the windshield washer spraying my rear tires just to loosen the grip comes into play. Now my car is a 75 with carbs so it has some power, but not enough to really break the tires loose at speeds over 40,thats when i would spray it, break the tires loose and powerslide the prancing horse. So i would not really be spraying the juice for a long time.

I still don't see it as feasible, what if you are in the middle of a power slide and the nitrous shot runs out, the car would immediately lose power, there are other options you can do, but for that application I wouldn't say nitrous was suitable

Gotta be careful. Mid engines bite, they don't forgive like front engined cars. I've driven both, the Mondial doesn't like it.(Oh cmon, who hasn't gassed it in the rain)

On the other hand, meine Auto von Bayern absolutely loves it. 2nd gear is the sweet spot for it. 168 front-engined BMW inline-6 horsepower.

That drift tracks aren't wet. They aren't rough, but theres a fair bit of rubber already on the ground to fight your loss of traction. Good luck with this man, go with a supercharger.
