If you get a chance please look at the NY Tri-state section of FChat regarding a question about insurance and give me your thoughts.

    Thanks,

NJ Insurance? You might consider a crucifix and holy water. Here in GA my 1988 coupe costs about the same as any of my other older cars such as the 2007 MAX. Apparently not many Mondials are either stolen or wrecked in the N. Georgia Mountains.

I believe the blue book insurance value on the car is about $20,000. Thats probably about three times the blue book value for the MAXX. I know the insurance on the Mondi is less then $600 per year. When I get the time I will look up the actual charges.

As for photgenic and as for climate? This is the place where Floridians crawl out of their swamps in April. It is also reputedly where Ted Turner has his gated community. In the old days while confined in the Purgatory of ChicagoLand I ran a Lotus Spread Sheet on liveability variables for the entire continental United States. Things such as number of days above 80 and 90F. Number of days below 32 and 0. Etc Etc. Airport availability [Atlanta - another purgatory] universities, ammenities of other sorts.

Then I drove down to these Southern Appalachia mountains to see if they had paved roads and supermarkets. Dumb ass me. Its a serious genuine resort area. My lake has 175 miles of shoreline and places where you can not see a single man made structure for miles upon miles in any direction. You need a chart to get back to the marina. Restaurants? More per square inch then ChicagoLand, though that is no recommendation. And you can get escargot and wild mushroom soup.

In short, it is probably the best four seasons climate on the planet. And I have seen 40-50 countries on the planet. I admit San Diego may have the best two seasons climate on the planet. Lived there to attend San Diego State College. But then you need to contend with twelve lane freeways and property prices and taxes to make you weep! I have about two acres of prime mountain view [five layers off into the distance] with taxes of about $1000 per year. Chicago on 1/4 acre flat suburbs was about $7,000 per year.

But I DO miss the ammenities of Washington DC. I consider that my second hometown. Sort of like New York City Lite without the need for three bags of gold.
