I'll be heading south tomorrow for the two day FCA event at Lightning. Anyone else going?
I was there last week for the PCA club race and stayed in one of the suites at Thunderbolt. Had a good time on the track and threw a party for about 30 people in the room.
I hope to collect my car at about noon from Lynmor Motorsports and be on my way.

Yup, I'll be there. I'll be driving my '04 Corvette Z06, silver. Look for me.

BTW, there is now track insurance available that will cover collision damage on the track. I bought it for the Watkins Glen event, and also for this one. The link to the company is on the FCA-Empire State Region website. IMHO, it is well worth it. One small mistake can be very costly. www.empirestateregion.com and go to "events" for info.

Clearly this is painfully last minute, but does anyone know if this event still has availability? Just gave Bob Coates a call - is he the correct point of contact?

Also, is the event open to non-FCA members? I've been dying to drive Thunderbolt and would love to run with you guys.

Game on! Spoke to Bob and looks like I'm in. Will be in the carbon black M3. Crossing my fingers that the shop at the track will be open so I can buy a helmet, but if not, does anyone have a spare I might be able to use? I'd be exceptionally grateful and am happy to pay a rental fee.

I might swing through to check out the track. I haven't been there since it's opened...

Awesome! Did the SCCA race with one car on Thunderbolt and the VRG race on Lightning in another! 1:26.2 on Thunderbolt in my Lola and 1:09.6 on Lightning in the Tiga!

    Whew! Great tracks both!

Is everyone staying at the Country Inn? Called them earlier and they were fully booked for the night...

Bastards, the whole lot of you! Instead of enjoying this event and continental breakfast at the Countryside Inn I'll be slabbing my 328 down to S.C. Enjoy :D
