No charge phone directory service, from cell or home!

THIS WORKS, I just tried it! Here is an email I got from a buddy today:

Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 to $1.75 or more for
411 information calls when they don't have to. Most of us do not carry a telephone directory in our vehicle, which makes this situation even more of a problem. When you need to use the 411 information option, simply dial 1 (800) FREE 411, or 1 (800) 373-3411 without incurring any charge at all. This is the kind of information people don't mind receiving, so pass it on to your family and friends.

Why didn't someone think about this sooner??!! This is how it came about. One day, one of our founders looked at his phone bill and thought, "I hate paying for directory assistance. These fees are ridiculous." He then called another smart executive type who agreed. "You're right. Paying for phone numbers stinks. We should do something about it." Not long after, 1-800-FREE411 was born. It was the end of 411 charges, and the beginning of free directory assistance. A service that provides all the free listings you need, from any phone, anywhere in America

 

Anytime you call a toll free number they are able to collect your personal information i.e. name, number, time of call and address(address is collected from a land line) This info can then be used for marketing purposes. Not sure if it's the case here but nothing is ever totally free.
