    Hi guys,
    I was run into out on 94 while I was stopped, waiting for traffic. Someone wasn't paying attention and plowed into me, totaling my car. His insurance has accepted 100% fault, I just need a lawyer to negotiate a settlement. It happened in Lake county, in a work zone, on I94.

    Any recommendations?

    I don't think you need a lawyer just yet. The insurance company will give you the value of the car at the time of the loss. It kind of goes like this: They will say it was worth $2, while you say it was worth $2,000,000. You need to be able to show what you say it's worth using Blue Book value, prices at dealerships, e-bay prices, etc.... The insurance co will do kind of the same, but will generally select the lowest price, you need to be prepared to show them they need to go higher for some real reason. Recently replaced brakes, exhaust, don't factor in unfortunately. If you just had it restored, painted, etc and can show it is now priced at the high end, they may buy that.

    we already settled on the car part... but i had injury... 2 months of physical therapy, multiple MRIs, CAT scans, ENG test, etc. I have fracture of C1 and bulging disks in cervical spine... had to drop second job for a few months dealing with it all :(

    Friend of mine just went through something similar where a cab drove the wrong way down a street and hit him on a moped. I will PM you his lawyer.

    Oh, that's different. Wow, sorry about that. Looks like you got a PM, so should be good to go. Or, you could watch late night TV, seems like there are all sorts of lawyer commercials at that time ;);).

    thanks guys.... recovered, though it seems i just have to live with a little numbness in left palm.. that hasn't gone away
