Despite what my wife says I'm not entirely crazy when it comes to sorting the mouse belts on my 94 348. The basic problem is they don't work and I can't find any info. on them in my WSM electrical section or online. Sooo if someone can point me to a chematic I would be most appreciative. This is the last item I need to fix and once I get them working will pull the power. Just want to know they work.

    Maybe she's right after all.

    Thanks,

    Brewman

I'm sorry Joe, but I'm a bit confused. Are you saying that you have a mouse in your car and you don't know how to put a belt on him? Could you, or should I say would you, please clarify this for me?

All I can add is that the control modules are 2 little black boxes inside the console most easily accessed through the panel by the passenger's left ankle, but I suspect you already knew that.

Yes check those and all, fuses, relays and connectors. Mine have worked since I got her with only 2900 miles after 20 years. Now over 10k miles and the passenger one went out last week. It was a relay I think. Killing the battery switch a few times and buckling the belt, opening and closing door, got it reset. A lot of these cars systems are essentially logic circuits. If you get them out of whack, you just need to reestablish the sequence to return to normal. Both my drivers headlamp lifter and pass door mouse have been reset this way. I messed up, the headlamp by fiddling around with the manual knob before I knew what I was doing.

I removed the belt ECUs from my 1990 Mondial T. They drove me nuts.

Here is what went wrong with mine:
The cover of the track for the mice must be completely clear of the track. Even the slightest interference of a mouse with anything will cause the current to go up on the circuit driving the mouse electric motor and the unit will shut off until you shut off the car and re-start.
So with that said, there are several small relays inside the ECU. These relays may get dirty contacts or the contacts can get arcing carbon on them. I used a burnishing tool to polish the contacts. Also, the door switches were getting a bit corroded, so I cleaned this as well.
That fixed it for me for a while but it was just too much bother when it went crazy again so I got the belts set into the drive position and removed the ECUs.

    Good luck,

    DavidJ

I would check for a recall bulletin first. I know on the TR there was a bulletin and they changed the belts, tracks, ecus etc at no cost. Yes all these years later. If there is a recall and they were never done. They will do it free of charge at a dealer. It's worth a checkin.
