Did anyone catch the bit about the absence of launch control in the F-430 that are bound for the US in the latest issue of FORZA? The absence of this feature should keep the CS more unique.
You would think a software hack would be pretty straightward to enable R.C. in N.A./U.S. cars, wouldn't it?
It's called product liability. The early 575's came equipped with it and they told us they were not, it would be retrofitted later. In fact the cars did have it and they had us replace the TCU's with an "Upgraded" one only to find out we were really removing the TCU's that had launch control in favor of ones that did not.
Well, the CS was F1-only....and the 430 is also available with a manual 6 speed. Pretty tough to equip a car with manual transmission with LC, eh? Hence...only 1 version of the 430 will be sold.
As a CS owner, having a button with LC and a sticker saying "you're going to die if you use it" is quite amusing. 5K road miles up, LC used zero times. I find race mode + stepping hard on the gas amusing enough. I'm not going to miss it on a 430...
I don't follow your reasoning at all. ROW F1 F430s have launch control. It is being removed from the US model. The 6 speed has nothing to do with this.
