I haven't seen any posts in regards to these cars in a long time. Would love to hear from current owners or past. I think they are a cool car, and maybe worth pursuing.

People don't exactly post much for Espadas either.

The bubble has deflated. Secondary Lamborghinis aren't of as much interest as they once were.

The price is still up there though. In Australia at least.

Great thread, you are on to something.

We had a Jarama for a few years, dark red w tan leather, first gen (pre S model) it made no sense to me (back then) that a Muira engine was $50K if you could find one and a whole driving Jarama was less than that. They were ugly ducklings for a long time. We picked ours up from Roy and gently plowed $$$ into her - mostly mechanics - she was not driven much or at all by previous owner (Louisiana lawyer Lambo collecter I think..). You got that amazing motor and the car came for free.

The design I always thought was awkward in photos but I can tell you in person she's elegant and beautiful. The interior is super retro, nothing like taking car freak friends for a ride and you put your foot into this almost Rolls Royce looking interior'd beast and the noise and speed builds and you're working this big old wood steering wheel and matching wood shift knob. Side draft Weber carbs, so nice. Very old school, romantic motoring. We sold it for a first gen Diablo, now that's a completely different story.

Well over here I don't think you'll have to wait so long ... as long as you're not expecting a really great car for $35K, $50K or $75K again.

But my original point is now that they aren't appreciating rapidly towards that mythical $350K goal well ... people aren't clamoring to snap them up or hurriedly dumping ludicrous amounts of money in them so there's less activity on here. Some are still going ahead and finishing up what they started but the "clamor" has died.

Staatsof: I do not disagree with anything you have said, but at least in the States, it is VERY HARD to find nice examples actively for sale. Most of the cars currently offered have huge needs. They were not worth much for so long, that many cars just sank into that valley of lack of care. I was lucky to find my 18,000 mile Jarama a few years ago, but really nice cars are few and far between.

It's always been hard but after the huge run up it's a lot easier if you're willing to pay. I've seen a total of 3 really nice cars in the flesh one not nearly as high quality as the other two since I bought mine over 10 years ago.
The price of parts has gone insane. It seems to me to much higher than the equivalent Maserati prices though everything has gone up. Unless you're an oil sheik the prospect of restoring one seems insane at this point. But I do know of people who have purchased in the last year and are doing just that. When I looked I couldn't find a car anywhere close to as nice as my Bora was back in the late 1980s. Like you said, the maintenance wasn't kept up and if it's been used then even if it has it's going to look a lot older. Lamborghinis do not age well WO huge infusions of cash. Italian exotics were never built to last for the long haul. I think Jaramas have always been more difficult just because of the low production numbers.
