My post was removed.... Thanks for the feed back. I figured out what the buttons on the center console were. The car has separate AC and heater fan and temperature controls. Hopefully this won't be deleted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Haven't ever seen a 308 heater fan switch like that (and since it covers some of the fan blade symbol on the switch plate seems unusual) -- do you know if it was replaced, or has anyone seen one like that before?
The fan switch has been replaced for sure. It should match the other switches. The only switch I've seen that doesn't match others is the aerial switch with 3 different models in production time as far as I know.
There use to be a place in the UK that sold these switches (and various other switches) for $10 to $15, and you can get the knob from Superformance.co.uk for around $3. Here ya go. Swap the knob out and you are back to OEMish. https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product_list/255
Definitely NOT a stock switch for the fan. Here is what my former '78 looked like before I restored the interior. I don't really recall but I want to say it was a three position toggle...off, low, and high. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh and like I mentioned in another post the lighter looks like it was replaced too. I've only seen the insert type like mine was (the lighter never leaves the socket) or the later type like the one in this pic... Image Unavailable, Please Login
And a new correct lighter might be more than $300 unless you can find a good used one. When parts for these cars get scarce they get expensive!!
Found a switch in the trunk but it's only a 2 position one. The seat are out getting refinished. The engine was cleaned up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This is the original delivery switches for a Japanese version of the 308. These are ultra rare, don't sell them !! Dealer is right, you have an original car.
Well, I said on the first thread (that has been closed) that this car looked to be an original "Japanese market" version of the 308, but that I deferred to your confirmation. So now I'm sure: this is an original Japanese market version. Rgds
Exactly, I should have written: Dealer is right "in that case", you have an original car. One of the Japan specs could be seen in the last picture from t3japan, the wheels had to show the standard on one branch, to my knowledge, this is the only market using that kind of rim.
Well, I certainly don't, unfortunately: the japanese Ferrari market is among the less well known, although we know that it received about 12.000 Ferraris in total, which would mean "about 5 to 6% of the production". Let's assume "about 5 % of the 308 production", which for carbed GTBs would mean "about 150 cars" (Glass and Steel)? It's a very gross estimation, but should be a kind of ballpark. Rgds
