Traveling down Vets yesterday I noticed it looks like Mercedes has taken over the Porsche lot. The Porsche website lists Brian Harris in BR but nothing for NO. Anyone know if this only temporary? I'm not Pcar shopping, just curious. Thanks.
Porsche of New Orleans is gone. Benson gave it up and Porsche North America is looking for someone to take it over in New Orleans. I heard there are several people looking at it but not sure who. Alongside Audi on Causeway might make sense.
I don't know how long they've been gone, but I took my car in probably two months ago and I never was told they were leaving and now they're gone. At that point Audi had already moved. I sure won't be taking my car to Baton Rouge to be serviced. That's ridiculous. Bad enough they didn't even have loaner cars before.
Ok, Audi moved. I though Porsche did too. Brian Harris is the closest I guess. I'll be up there tomorrow bringing the bmw in for service again, it never ends with this car. They have Audi and Porsche in the same building and BMW and Mini in the other.
Brian Harris services my Porsche and Lamborghini. I have had good service with them for the past 4 years now (on the Porsche side, I dont know about the BMW side). They will take good care of you.
The BMW side can be good but you have to make them. It is very frustrating. They treat the owner as if they know nothing about cars and couldn't possible know what needs to be done.
I have been told that Ray Brandt is picking up the line and putting it next to the Infiniti dealer on Causeway and W. Esplanade. I cannot validate that There is a service place that opened off metairie road with porsche certified technicians too called NOLA Sport. I got a flyer in the mail the other day.
No porsche specific shops that I have found. On a previous Porsche a few years ago I limped over to Munchen with an overheat thinking that they could get me fixed but they wouldn't even look at the car. I stumbled on another shop behind it that did great work for me. I think they have since closed but will check for sure. For general maintenance and tires on the rest of the stable, I use autoville with great result and will be bringing my porsche to them for service.
If you are coming down the W. Approach from the bridge, take the first right after you pass the sanctuary and beau rivage. I think the street is called Moores Road.

The salesman who sold me my car recently sent an e-mail saying they were in the final stages of selecting and announcing a new dealer.
Thanks for the info. I'll try them out next time I need tires mounted. I'm tired of Phil Meraux acting like they are doing me a favor by having my business.
PM pissed me off pretty bad also. I had to bring my wife's 07 tahoe for an alignment. I had a slow leak in the front tire off of my daily driver 08 nissan frontier CC. I took the wheel off and threw it in the Tahoe. They fixed the tahoe and the tire from the frontier. When i got home i took the wheel for the frontier out of the tahoe. There was a nickel sized gouge in the inside of the aluminum frontier wheel. I could even see where the tech had rubbed the brake dust away from the wound with his finger. I brought it back up there and showed it to the manager. He said it was normal and thats just how the tire machine grips the inside of the wheel. I thing the wheel slipped on the machine, I guess the jaws weren't quite tight enough. I can't imagine it gouging every wheel that bad. I think operator error. I really didn't care because this is just a truck to keep a few miles off my m3, but I wanted him to admit that damage wasn't normal. He would not admit anything. I told him that he was a liar and to get a good look at my face because he'd never see it again.
Tire World is where we have bought all our tires for the past few years, much better than using meraux.
For tires and brakes on the Hondas I have been using Superior on Florida with very good results. I did use Firestone for the TRs new tires Superior couldn't get a matching front and rear set and I was very happy with the service at Firestone.
Tire World is the worst! I gave them 4 tries to get get an alignment right on my old Fiero. I had to throw a fit for them to get them to give me the money back. Atlas was okay until 3 of my painted wheels were scratched while they were mounting new tires. I should have stopped them before they even started. The older guy doing the work did a oil change on a Cadillac before my car. He walked into the waiting room and asked the owner if the dipstick was broken, the owner said no and the old guy told him that it was now. Somehow he broke the dipstick off in the tube. Really should have listened to my inner voice. Switched to Phil Meraux, but the last few times, they acted like they didn't want my business. The manager is a total ******. The owner is better, he would at least let me sit in the car when they did the alignment, but their equipment is old and I'm tired of their attitude. Plus I need to find a place that is open on Saturday. Do you think Autoville would mine if I bring in my own tires and just have them mount and balance?
