Although it looked like a given, that Michael would start in Malaysia with a fresh engine, the team might just not do that: They are considering bringing the new car to Bahrain and have Michael use the Australian car and engine in Malysia. Pure speculation at this point, but interesting I thought.

Im dying for them to bring out the new car. However, its nice to see the older Ferrari being competitive with the newer competition.

Ferrari won't take a new engine because of the heat.
malaysia and bahrain are both very hot races. ferrari thinks it's better to race malaysia with the autralian engine, and take a new one to bahrain. two of these hot races will be that heavy for the engines that ferrari won't take the risk of braking them down.
ross brawn thought schumachers australian engine was not damaged, so it was ready to make it through one more race in malaysia.

I think that they're going to do well this weekend. There's definitely going to be some attrition. We all know about the reliability of the Ferraris and I'm confident that they'll last the entire race but it'll be intereting to see who else picked up their game - especially Renault and McLaren.

frankly i think its just stupid that the pinnacle of racing is now being short changed because of engine nursing.....this is not racing this is some kind of green party conservation marathon bs !

MSC had already changed an engine on Sat. evening and took the 10 place hit on the grid. He didn't change after the race so that they can introduce the 656 in Bahrain.
