Hi, Finally putting everything together in my 208 GT4. But, now there is no spark... I tried rotating the distributor to see if there is something wrong inside but everything looked ok, a voltmeter is blinking up to twelve volt. Tried with a stroboscope on number one and number five spark plug wires, no spark. The two black Flame thrower II Pertronix coils are fed by a yellow plus cable from the ignition key. I connected this to one of the coils and then another +wire from that coil to the other coil. Correct? Could it be bad ground so the minus on the coils should also need a -connection directly to ground? I bought a new battery, l needed that anyway. Spark plugs are in good condition. Confused, nothing sparks. Do not know where to start now. /Peter
Are you running the stock fuse block or something else? Running a super-duper ignition system will increase the current passing thru the fuse block (the current doesn't go thru a fuse -- just thru the rivets/plates), and can hasten the "melting" of the stock fuse block plastic. If you still have the stock fuseblock, inspect the area at the top of fuses #1 and #2. Even if you have something else, another thing to do is confirm the voltage on the yellow wires is reasonable during starter motor cranking -- should be something like 8~9V minimum (if it is, you must have some problem with Pertronix stuff).
Hi Steve, Good idea! I have the Birman fuse block installed but I will check it again. The same with the yellow wire. Thanks!
