I like it a lot. The owner of the company is a chemist and he backs up his claims with the testing to prove it. It's not rocket science that the more you "dilute" water by mixing it with ethylene glycol, the less effective of a coolant it becomes. The cooling systems in the 550's and 456's are borderline in a high ambient client, and overheating while sitting in traffic is pretty common, so a coolant mix that is a higher percentage of water, and lower of ethylene glycol, along with a bottle of No-Rosion is very effective in these cases. The only caveat is to ensure there's enough ethylene glycol in the system to avoid boilover, especially when the engine is shutdown and is sitting there heat soaking without any pressure in the cooling system.
It was hotter where I lived in California than here in Texas and I never once had a 550 or 456 with a heating issue in either place. Outside of a few people here I have not heard of an issue in the entire Ferrari service community. I have never heard of any special care of their cooling systems or coolant mixes.
i believe the manufacturer states the regular coolant need not be changed until 5 yrs once the additive was added to fresh coolant.
After reading about heat exchanger failures in the 360, I elected to prophylactically change my heat exchanger. I did it because I could not document regular coolant changes before my ownership. Since then I have been using their flush before coolant change at every major. http://www.no-rosion.com/hyperkuhlflush.htm I do use top quality coolant which should protect against corrosion for 3-5 years. I add this stuff yearly for additional protection against corrosion. http://www.no-rosion.com/norosioncoolant.htm Does it work? I can’t say, my study “n” is to small and there is no control group. Also no one is dissecting my cooling system to examine for signs of microscopic corrosion. I’m willing to spend a literally a couple of bucks for a “belt and suspenders “ anti corrosion method. Doubtful it will hurt anything, and may help. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
