This is like the bozos near us that bought houses in a new development right next to our local gun club with outdoor rifle range. Next thing you know, they are complaining about the noise from a gun club that has been here for 50 years and managed to get the outdoor rifle range shut down. Now we only have an indoor pistol range. Rifle ranges are getting rarer than unmolested series one GT4's here in MA! Birdman
Yeah, no kidding. Just like people that move right under a flight path and then complain about noise....
Given that the noise metering microphones are on one side of the track or the other and alternated for the day... ...one popular solution is 60-90 degree (right) angle deflector tips on the exhaust. Once the team learns which side of the track the microphones are positioned on a particular day, the tips are pointed in the opposite direction. The 5-7 db gained is usually enough to put the exhaust noise into the safe zone without changing anything major.
