I've been out of the loop. Anyone know what this www.nolamotor.com is all about? Anyone going to the 9/2 meeting? Flash
I first heard about it a couple of weeks ago. It sounds great and it is closer than any other track to New Orleans. I registered to go to the meeting on the 2nd. It will be interesting to hear the whole pitch.
Any idea where the track is going to be located? I heard, a few years ago, the No Problem was to be turned into a racing "country club".
Looks like Jefferson Parish. I found this on the Facebook link: "We are unveiling NOLA Motorsports Park to the public and the media on September 2, 2009. The catered event starts at 5:30 PM with beverages and snacks, presentations begin at 6:00PM. Guest speakers include President Aaron Broussard and councilman Byron Lee from Jefferson Parish, track designer Alan Wilson, and a special guest who is a professional race driver. We also will get some advice and wisdom from Mark Basso, the founder and CEO of the most successful Club type track facility in the country, Autobahn Country Club, in Joliet, Illinois. Introductions and a discussion on "why do I want to do this" will be made by NOMSP owner and founder, Dr. Laney Chouest." moving towards reality: http://www.usracingclub.com/
It is true, the track is going to be great. There is very limited space at the September event, so please register soon. At first it was going to be 200 ppl only but has since been expanded becuase of the popularity of the track/club since the newspaper came out. If you check out the http://www.autobahncountryclub.net/ website you can see what Nolamotor is looking to bring down here. Im personally involved with the motor park and want the track hyped!!! So keep spreading the news.
This. Good Luck but I'm afraid I'm with CB on this one. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=160423 I've just been hearing about a track around here since I was a kid.
Are we talking about two track projects, or one? Because the Nola Motorsports link is the same site listed on the paperwork given to me for the purchase and redesign of the no problem track in Donaldsonville.
Are you picking up a ZR1 to go along with your user name? Two separate projects I believe so I'm surprised by what you found in the paperwork. I emailed Kent asking if he was involved in NOLA Motor but haven't rec'd a reply yet.
It's real, and it's only a matter of time before cars are actually on the track I'll be there on the 2nd. A Ferrari F40 will be there too, as well as a few other interesting cars from what I hear.

The had an "open house" today. I was amazed that this is really getting built. I know Laney may have the cash to do this- but actually spending that much cash on this is a whole 'nother thing! They have cleared out a very large area (500 acres?) & have a number of dirt moving equipment deployed. So far the only thing complete is the driveway flanked by palm trees. I think the plans are extremely ambitious. I wish them all the best. The kart track is being done first- i expect 1st quarter 2011 to complete it. Two tracks are planned. The North track which is intended for fun/weekend racing is the first to be built. I figure 4th quarter 2011 for it. I'll scan in the brochure and post it tomorrow.
Glad to hear someone went; how was the turnout? I thought about going but kids' desires got in the way.
Pretty good turnout- maybe 50-75 people? Cars were parked all along the driveway. Ducati was there in force with their display. Several Ferrari, MB- SLS, Audi R8 ragtop, couple ZR1 Vettes.
