I got an email invite for a Ferrari event being held at the New Orleans Museum of Art on Feb 18. I assume they got my email address from FCA. I haven't seen it advertised anyplace else. It looks like an interesting event given the participation of Ferrari of Houston and Risi Competizione. I don't have a Concors car by any means but it could be fun nonetheless.

Franco and Robert Lupo put this together, so you know it will be both fun and a class act event. Looking forward to it.

My invitation did indeed come thru FCA.

You can RSVP your attendance first, and then they inquire, if you are bringing a Ferrari.
I was very glad to see Franco's name on that email.

Not sure my car will be there but it does look like a wonderful event!

That of course is Ferrari's Birthday. Can non-FCA members attend?

I would think they'll welcome any and all Ferraris. Shoot an email to the address in the invite, mail@lupoenterprises.net. I sent an email and Robert responded to me within a few hours.

The opening reception last night was wonderful!
The exhibit on Venice is very well done, and quite interesting.
FoH brought some great racing and street examples for the front steps.

    Well done, to all involved.

I had a conflict with Saturday, so it was trip down, and a trip back, for me.
    Post up some pictures!!

You dog! I still have your cigar from the 2004 French Quarter Classic. STILL!

P.S. Franco stood in for a nice pre-event promo spot on the morning news the other day.

Well, sir...I was thirty minutes late to retrieve my date:
    Wreck delay Houston I45 South.
Wreck delay at the Sabine River Bridge, I10 Eastbound
Wreck delay Baton Rouge, also at the bridge or just past it, downtown.

I was anxious about that, against the posted hours of the event.
But the Museum staff was very gracious, I think we finally left about 9PM!!!

We saw Mrs. Valobra, at the door, I never ran across Franco!!

I liked a lot of the art, and artifacts, I guess my fave was the pistol, in the cut out pages of the prayer book!!

    The exterior was pretty magical.....

    That's not Mrs. Valobra......:D:D

I actually have some thing for you, it reminded me of your girls when I saw it.
So we need to catch up!

Now, leaving at midnight, at least the accidents got more interesting:
Overturned smashed and steaming Chrysler, on the roof (other side) downtown Baton Rouge
Large animal, thankfully already hit and down...hit in the fast lanes at Mile Marker 40.8, I10 westbound
And finally, just east of Houston (it's further from Orange to Baytown than one might think!) a huge 18 wheeler incident, lost trailer, lost load, spilled diesel, HazMat working and the rig was burned to the ground....

So, 6AM Thursday morning, until 6AM Friday morning, NON stop!
I was at work by 10AM......

Many, MANY thanks to those who organized this event. It was obvious a lot of work went into it, very well done. Can't wait for Round 2! Franco mentioned several times that the Louisiana Ferrari club is BACK, and this is only the beginning. Our MS FCA group has gotten much more active lately as well, so between the two I believe there is a lot of potential for some great events.

Here's a quick video walk through of most of the cars, I believe another 7-8 more showed up after I filmed this. Also have a bunch of pics, will sort through them tomorrow and post some good ones.

Those are hand blown Murano glass, well known for artistry and also the ability to embed colors and items within the work.

Valobra Jewelers is a dealer in the chandeliers using the same artistry.

So, yes, these horses are each one of a kind, and quite amazing!
Truly a trophy to be proud of!!!!

You can goggle on the glass to learn more about it.
    THANKS for the great photos!!

I was very sorry to have had a conflict in Houston on Saturday.

The art exhibit on Venice (INSIDE the museum!) was almost a once in a lifetime event, it combined so many Italian museums, loaning pieces.

I would urge you to make it on over now, while it is installed.
That would make your Ferrari parking, right up front!!!

    Jus' sayin'.....
