I saw one of those Aussie (but English owned) muscle kit car Elfins heading up the freeway this morning. Apart from the yellow Brock one in Classic Adelaide a couple of years ago, this is the first time I've seen one on the road.

 

Me thinks that is sexy!

Lol if you are taking photos of cars like those, you'll never have time to cross the road! There are plenty better in London. I remember seeing 5 Murcielagos on Sloane Street within 30 minutes while waiting for a bus! You get some crazy things there car wise!

they talk about it in this months Motorsport mag. Carbon race seats, bigger brakes, bit more power, the pseudo track car idea. I think they're watching the success of Aston doing this kind of thing, particularly for the UK market.

Motorsport said the standard seats are too hard, but they loved the rest of the car.

 

Not spotted at the Murray Walker thingamabob, this was quite a nice sight to walk out to in the pouring rain.

I knew it was coming months and months ago. It won't be here until very late this year and at a price premium. It will be a little harder core along the lines of the gransport; but really, you're kidding yourself if you think you are going to notice 40 odd HP and a piffling amount of extra torque. For my intended use and living in the speed camera capital of the universe, I am happy with the current one and it's luxury/automatic focus.

 

i think it saids on the article that the acceleration is something like fraction of a second. so really not much of a change from the existing model.

i think its like the old DB7, and the DB7 Vantage, visually almost the same, little bit of difference in items you can and bhp difference. but HUGE premium.

 

The standard car has more performance than you are ever going to need. It has the same performance as a 512BB or 930 Turbo for christs sakes, I reckon that is more than enough for the daily commute!

 

i think the masser is bit faster than them isn't it? i saw a fifth gear test on it, they really loved it!

So yeah you're quite right on that one, i personally don't think there is really that much of a difference between the standard car and the S, just like the Vanquish and the Vanquish S, same thing, but just more excuse from the factory to charge people more money (and by the look of it quite a huge amount).

I have yet to drive one so it's just an educated guess. Perhaps if you lived in Germany or the Italian Alps you might find the performance lacking; but in Melbourne "adequate" is really all you need 99.99999% of the time.

 

If you're an armchair expert, like so many people who don't actually own an exotic car, the opinions of motoring journalists (most of whom drive poverty hatchbacks) are more important than the real world.
