Does anyone know what stock looking non-metric wheels will work on a 412? Will Testarossa 16x8 front wheels work? What about 1989 328 wheels or Mondial T wheels? I know 348 wheels will work, but don't like the look.

    Thanks,
    Bob

    348's work? You sure?
I thought the fronts had trouble.

Didn't we just see pics of a guys 400 w/ 348 wheels on it??? I think he had to do some custom spacers...maybe I am dreaming, but I thought we saw that recently.

    Hi James,

Your memory is correct. Here is a link to (hopefully) get you to the thread where I bludgeoned the subject to death and then posted an apology along with before and after photos of my 412 with stock TRX wheels and with my current 348 wheels.

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=186313&highlight=412+wheels

The 215s on the 7.5" fronts look a little puny compared to the stock 245s, but the 225s on the 9" rear wheels aren't too bad. The 9" wide wheels do require the use of a 1" (25mm) spacer. I'll probably change to 225s on all corners with the next tire change.

The important bits are that the 412 can accept the 348,355 and even the 360 wheels but this is an option only on the 412 which had the ABS brakes. The earlier series 400 and 400i didn't use ABS so the newer series wheels won't fit except on the 412.

If the original poster of this thread doesn't like the look of the newer style wheels, they should use the search function to find the several postings by Dave and others outlining the alternatives for keeping 16" wheels on the 412.

Spacers! I knew it was something and not just a "bolt on".

Have to give you credit Brad, and all you other owners out there, for finding ways around TRX's.

Thanks Dave, now if I can just discover which year and model Fiat used those front parking light lenses that go for $1000 a set on my 412 I'll be a happy man. (Cheap is a great motivator!)

By the way, what info do you show in your database for my car #69965 ?
I know it was brought in originally by FOH and sold new to Herb Friedlander in CA and I bought it 6 years ago from the dealer selling 65 cars from Herb's estate after he died. EPA and DOT by Amerispec and any additional info would be appreciated.

You've got an iPhone - the more you use it the more you'll love it. A bit like a 400.
