Where in the car (1985 QV Cabriolet Euro) is the "electronic unit for check control"? I have been unable to find it. It looks like it is mounted behind a removable panel. #22 on the attached diagram is what I am talking about.

    Thanks!

Have a look behind the panel under the passengers feet, behind the carpet. They tend to fit alarm/ immobiliser in there

My guess is it's in the rear trunk area. Right hand side (while facing forward) with a panel behind the carpet.

David - having gutted my 85 mondial euro for paint/rebuild I can tell you it's not in the trunk - The only electronics back there are the sunroof motor (left side), electric antenna (right side) and lights of course...Mike's suggestion of under the passenger footwell is probably correct. Afterburner here on FC will know for sure

I'm only going based on what my mechanic told me several years ago: to disconnect the circuit that controls the infamous "Slow Down" light, that box is in the trunk on the right of my car. Haven't done it so cannot confirm. Perhaps there's a difference between the Euro QV and US 3.2? Or perhaps the electronics the OP is asking about is something totally different.

There is a metal plate on the right side of the trunk floor that must come up to gain access to the electronics underneath it. This is on my US spec 1987. I had to deal with the "Slow Down" light on mine and can verify the ECU for it is in this location.

greatscott73 - OldSkoolFool (the OP) has a 1985 QV Cabriolet Euro which should be different from your US spec 1987...my Mondial is an 85 QV Euro and there are no electronics in the trunk other than the sunroof motor (left side), electric antenna (right side) and lights (if you consider them electronic)...mike32's suggestion of under the passenger footwell seems correct as there are definitely electronics under a plate at the forward part of the footwell.

Gents, I did a little more digging and it IS in the passenger footwell, so Mike32 was correct. There is a metal panel with a few screws to remove and the electronic unit is behind that panel.

My brake circuit seemed to be all proper before and after the unit which is why I wanted to find the electronic unit and do some more diagnosing. I might be fighting a losing battle with a bad fuse box as some jiggling around with the fuse box now solved my non-working window problem but has resulted in the lights (ex: parking lights, trunk light, fiber optic lights) staying on even with the key off and lights switched off. Driving season in Wisconsin is nearly half over and I haven't sorted this thing out yet!

If you wanted to fit an alarm/ immobiliser, you can bolt it to the back of that plate as no room to put it elsewhere.
