So far I've been a mercedes and porsche guy. I've been looking at Stradales but can't find the right combination for sale (titanio/blk leather). I really like the F430 but can't bring myself to look past the oversized side airintakes. I've been browsing gallardos and have found pearl orange and pearl yellow (sometimes referred to as pearlescent yellow????) to be really apealling. I'm a bit confused though. Saw some pics on dupont, of pearl yellow that looked like they were yellow and some that looked more like orange. Does the colour change in different lighting? I know some colours like Ferraris grigio alloy and Porsches polar silver are quite versatile (sometimes looking blue and sometimes silver). Is this the case with pearl yellow as well? I was wondering if some lucky pearl yellow gallardo owner would like to share pics and explain variations. I'm also wondering what colour the gallardo in MI3 was.
    TIA
    -Peter

I'll have a go at this one...

The pearl yellow does look different in different light, but it is never really orange (although I have seen some pics that make it seem so too). I suspect different cameras and filter settings can confuse the issue. The angle of the sun can also make a difference.

On a gloomy day, the pearl paint seems to pick up any light it can find and it gives the car a very nice luminescent look without much obvious metallic effect. In bright sunlight, the paint is predictably a brighter and lighter yellow with more "pearl" effect. Unlike some solid colours, the pearl doesn't reflect the harsh glare of a bright sun, but instead intensifies the yellow. At night, the metallic finish is a bit more obvious, giving the car a classy look.

Someone once commented (Ryalex?) that the beauty of this colour is that it looks good in just about any light. It is no accident that when Lamborghini had to choose the colour to launch the car, it put most of its demos on the road in pearl yellow.

Here are some pics of my SE in different light. There's no substitute for seeing for yourself though. I hope this helps. :)

Beautiful pics of a stunning looking car. IMO better looking than its big brother (Murci). Do you by any chance know what the colour of the G was in Mission Impossible 3?
Thanks for the info very useful.

    Thanks for the replies guys!
They're both great colours (pearl yellow and orange).
