    Norcal Tahoe RUN 6/30

    We are planning a Tahoe run on June 30th. We will have 2 routes planned and will decide that morning which one will be taken. The drive is one of the most picturesque and fantastic drives you will ever go on. The roads are amazing and a fine balance of speed and twists.

    Meeting point is Nimbus Winery off HW 50 and Hazel at 9:00AM.

    Leaving at 9:30AM on the DOT.

    There is a bay area caravan up to the meeting point lead by Marlin311.

    Details will be given at the meeting point. Please remember to bring 2 way radios.

    We will be having lunch in Tahoe

    OMG----------I used to live in Cedar Flats/Tahoe City - built a home for my parents in Incline Village. I love that place so much. I actually have go up to the lake to take my dad's ashes up and give them a real good toss (his request). Let's see-----------

    I'll go if xsssive is going. Would be nice to meet up at halfway point if I knew were that is since sac is too far and tahoe is too close.

    We are having lunch at harveys. plenty of safe parking.

    We will have 2 groups "spirited" and cruz.

    We are leaving before the traffic so hopefully it will not be to bad. Some people are trying to setup a cabin to stay over night if they are free.

    i was up in that area last 4th of july cars line up for miles ....not a good time to be up there in the taheo area unless you are driving a automatic.....i'm game for june.....

    hopefuly we can avoid the crowds. We will do the best we can. As we are leaving early it should be a nice drive with minimal traffic.

    Please bring 2 way radios if you can as well.

    Just letting you guys know that this topic has been posted on multiple threads ranging from Audi's, BMW's, and others and wanted to let you know that people are already making plans on staying at cabins and such so changing the date now would really screw up a lot of plans from other people that are planning on going. I am planning on going with our whole crew about 6-7 cars and staying the weekend up there of the 30th so it would be great if we could keep this date but either way this sounds awesome and we are looking forward to it.

    There were never any plans on changing the date. The event was sent to the ********** group so hopefuly we will have some nice mix of cars.

    It will be a great weekend to be at Tahoe (other than the traffic). I'll be up there for the whole week.

    I would recommend Edgewood Golf Course for lunch. I can arrange the lunch and parking.

    we need more info on this drive is the drive route and lunch place already set,or is this open, if its open the outdoor lunch is munch better i think...is this a overnight ride ...dinner?...rooms?...more on sat. or ??

    Route is already planned. I will make a hidden site that people can email me to get the detials on the planned path to Tahoe.

    We will have rally points so people can drive at their own pace and stop to take pics of the group and their cars. We do have 2 group leaders at the moment.

    Lunch is open to where you like to go. Majority will be going to the forest buffet at harveys I belive as it over looks the whole lake and has a tone of seating.

    A few people are getting rooms to stay over night. That is a on your own or plan a group. They are looking in getting a cabin to have everyone at the same place. However it is pretty book right now in Tahoe.

    Those not staying or going home are planning on coming to my place for a after drive BBQ.

    Again open to all. I will get the drive map up tonight if I can and those who wish to have the route can email me or PM me for the link.

    How do we get involved with the two groups that have group leaders? Is there a list? In regards to dinning at Harvey's is there a list for that as well. We need more guidance here and planning if anyone can do this. The website will help a lot with the drive but for other things I am sure there will need to be planning involved.

    Basic format. Show up and have fun. The details will be worked out and given to you as time goes on. Most of the final details will be available at the event start. That is part of the adventure. The stops and route are planned up until lunch. After that there are choices. Stay in Tahoe, Drive back home, or Drive to the BBQ.

    2 groups of cars for the drive. You can decide which group you would like to be the day of. The leaders will introduce themselves at the event.
    - group 1 = spirited / those who wish to drive safe but at a faster pace then some people
    - group 2 = Cruz / people who wish to have short moving moments but prefer to take a leisure drive there rather than have their trousers on fire.

    Can we actually try making a list of those who are going?

    Also can you note if you wish to go to lunch with the group to the Forest Buffet. It is at Harris not Harvey’s FYI. If you are doing lunch else where please note other. Last if you are staying in Tahoe for the night or doing the BBQ at my place in Sacramento.

    If there is anyone else that you have invited and that is driving along for this event. Please try to find out from those people the same below information.

    i called this am to try and get a room .....good luck, HARRAHS is full no rooms (sold out) and i'm a DIAMOND card holder,(yes i do go up there a lot).....i think this is going to be too munch traffic for my old clutch foot....going to have to think this out before i say yes ...i want to go but driving up and back in one day ? i dont know.......thinking.............i'm going to keep trying to get a room............
