    Norcal Tahoe RUN 8/11/07

    Meeting at 9:00AM (this is to meet everyone and to avoid traffic as best as possible)

    We are planning a Tahoe run on June 30th. We have a planned route with 2 groups and 4 stops. The 2 groups will be divided into the following:
    "Spirited" - for those who wish to run at posted speeds in twisty roads and a little above
    “Cruz” - For those who wish to open the throttle sparingly but prefer to see the scenery.

    We will be leaving at 9:30AM on the DOT from the meeting point.

    There is a bay area caravan up to the meeting point lead by Marc: [email protected]

    Please remember to bring 2 way radios if at all possible.

    Lunch will be at the Forest Buffet at Harrahs Casino casino for those who are interested. Please indicate if you plan on eating with the group or doing your own thing. The food is ok but the view is worth the price of admission.

    There will be a BBQ after the drive at Adam Cooks place for those who wish to attend. Please email if you plan on attending the BBQ and how many will be with you. adam@**********.net

    That's the same weekend as Hot August Nights in Reno, just so you know... Don't know yet if I'll be able to make the drive, or if I'm going to HAN...

    Orrie, do both. I'm thinking about hitting the drive in the AM and heading toward Reno from Tahoe.

    We're a "probably" at this point. Would be a long day, but as I'm getting to know the car better, it's becoming more "natural" to drive. Am planning on hitting the foothills this weekend to get to understand more than the straight-line aspects of the car.

    Hot August nights are Aug. 3 - 12. There is also the 2007 Concours d'Elegance woody boat show at the north shore of Tahoe that same weekend. This is will be a great weekend to be in the Reno/Tahoe area for fun.

    I am planning on attending the woody boat show on Thursday. Depending on the groups driving agenda, I may meet up with you guys on Saturday. For those that want to continue the weekend with Hot August Nights, we can arrange to meet as a group in Reno or Tahoe to check out the classic cars.

    Our plans are changing just a little for that day, the 11th - I've got a bachelor party back here in Elk Grove at 8:00 that night, and he's a good friend of mine, and I don't wanna miss it. So it looks like for the 7th consecutive year, I'll be missing Hot August Nights, and will head home down 50 after the run to Tahoe. :(

    Mike, I hope you'll meet us in Tahoe - it'll be my first run in the 355. :)

    Definitely! ;-) We will most likely participate in the run..then take I-80 back so we can go to the Nevada County Fair.

    Who's going to Hot August Nights from Tahoe? anybody want to run through North Shore and check out the classic wooden boat show before heading to Reno?
