Depends what Audi lets you do with it. If they don't care if you melt the tires off it, put cams on the car and film the whole thing for a DVD release, yeah, 10-15k is realistic.

I just figured for all the air, hotel, time with the car, etc it would get there. Plus if you add a couple of Gs for the chairty. I dont think you have to destroy the car to make it worth your while. The lambo winter event experience is like 3 Gs if I am correct and you have to pay for the cars if you break them. The barcelona experience for the RS4 was 4k and that didnt even include air or anything. It was one day also.

I suppose if you're looking at it from a cost-for-experience standpoint, yeah, it's in the ballpark. 10k may be a bit high though. It is, after all, just a car that several exotic rental places will have fairly soon.

I always look at such things with a mind to recouping costs, like a good little capitalist. ;)

Seems like an awesome experience...and something done for a noble cause which is A+ in my book.

Will be traveling that weekend... - :(

Hopefully somebody here does good on it.

lol I guess you can look at it that way. Personal, even if I didnt get to drive a car or fly out to vegas/LA i would consider 10k to a charity more than reasonable.

Well, we might now have to consider starting a new charity.....

The "Get Bryan out of jail" charity. All proceeds to help fund his defense. Maybe Rob can film it for the next "beyond the quarter mile" and call it "Behind the iron gate" :p

I dont think its fair to justify getting your money's worth for charitable events. You're paying for the experience and to support a cause, not paying for the right to drive and beat up a car to recoupe your bid.

I think it's perfectly fair in this instance, aside from the fact that my recouping-costs comment was largely tongue-in-cheek.

Donating to charity is one thing, and something I'm sure many people here do without a care for justifying the price, beyond their belief in said charity and/or the work they do. However, in this case, and in the case of just about every "here's an incentive for you to give" charity event or item, you are in effect getting something for your donation by design, and hence I don't see anything wrong with justifying it.

I would completely agree were this a "Here's a good cause, please donate" sort of thing, but it isn't only that. It's "If you donate a bunch of money, you'll get something really cool in exchange for it", and hence something you can assign an extrinsic value to.
