Sunday, October 7, 2007 NORTH AURORA AUTO FEST Time: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM Registration: 8:00 AM - 11:30 AM Location: North Aurora Auto Mall (I-88 and Orchard Road), North Aurora, IL Delicious food, great music and hundreds of beautiful classic cars, trucks and motorcycles! What more could you ask for? This participant judged show awards over 60 trophies. A Top 40 format is followed by many "Best of" awards. (i.e., Best Chevy, Best Dodge, Best Foreign, Best Paint and Best Engine, etc.) Door prizes and 50/50 raffles add to the fun! This is NOT a "locals" show. While many entrants are from the Chicagoland area, participants come all over the Midwest! While you stroll through the show, you could see a beautiful 1957 Chevy Bel Air. Perhaps a 1947 Triumph Roadster or a 1958 BMW Isetta would catch your eye. No matter what your preference is, with over 200 vehicles in attendance, you are bound to find something to drool over!
I think it might be on the back of a speeding turtle. I'll check again. Sometimes, things at home aren't as quick as I would like.
I'll probably be there in the 308. Not sure if I will be able to stick around the entire day though. Who else is going?
I plan to be there with my 328. I look at this as one of those sunny day events. Probably arrive around 10:30 and stick around to see how things go.
Assuming we can all agree on an arrival time, do we want to make a "Grand Ferrari Appearance" by all driving up together? Just a (silly) thought.
Yes the North Aurora Auto Mall is just on the other side of I88 from where the Starbucks is. Probably a mile or less. What time? 10:30? Lets hope the weather holds!!!!!

Yes . . . . keeping our fingers crossed for good weather. Today would have been ideal weather-wise. Assuming weather holds up, as JohnnyS stated, we will meet at the Starbucks on Orchard Rd. just south of I88 at 10:30 AM. We'll head over to the North Aurora Auto Mall at 10:45. I really hope a lot of folks can join the "parade" from Starbucks to the North Aurora Car Show. Please let us know who plans to join us so we know who to look for. Thanks Bill
Looks like the weather is going to cooperate! So far possible attendees are: Gerry328 JohnnyS Bob308GTS How about ErikV10 and tifosi12? Sure would be nice to have a long caravan of Ferrari's/exotics drive up. Please let me know if you are going to attend so we make sure we have everyone before we take off. Again we will join up at the Starbucks on Orchard just south of I88 at 10:30 am and will start on our way to the show at 10:45. If the parking lot by Starbucks is too congested at that time there is a Chase Bank right next door that should be empty. I look forward to seeing everyone!
I'd love to attend but started this AM replacing water pump and doing timing belts. Have to pay to play! You never know if we can get done and purge all the air in the cooling system we might be there!
Great time seeing the cars and meeting new Ferrari folks. We did meet up at Starbucks and drive the Ferraries over to the show. There was Bill in his 308, Bob with his 308 and Gerry and me with our 328s. Bob won a trophy for his excellent 308 and he said he won due to the fact his was the only "real" Ferrari there. It had carbs and not those silly injectors things. Below are some shots from the show including a group shot by Bill's son, Bill. The Mini won Best Import. Looking at the size and considering the distance the owner needed to drive, he worked hard for it. It was great meeting everyone abd chatting. Cheers!!
