For those of you who drive your cars during the winter, any recommendations for car washes in the Lake Forest or surrounding areas that do a good job? I am always nervous about car washes as they sometimes use dirty sponges or mitts.

I'm NOT trying to sound snobbish even in the slightest.....but if you have an F car you really NEED to have it washed by a professional or really need to know what you are doing yourself. Taking it to a car wash and letting them at it will only destroy your paint. F cars need to be washed then air hosed off every time they are cleaned.

    good luck

    L,
Thanks, that's why I am asking for recommendations. This is my first F car. I used to wash my Twin Turbo myself but found it very difficult in the winter because it was just too cold.

I'd like to direct you to www.autopia.org, which is a great detailing site. If you want to wash your car by yourself, its possible to do from inside your garage. QEW, or quick and easy wash, is normally used by RV owners, but it allows you to wash your car without a hose. The retailers listed on Autopia have this product for sale.

    YT,
Wow, this QEW stuff seems amazing. I will try it on one of my others cars first, but it seems like a godsend. Saw all of the detailed tips on the
    Autopia site also. Thanks.
