Anyone in the Northeast interested in a track day at the New York Safety Track (NYST) in Harpersfield, NY about an hour west of Albany..

The track is 2.1 miles, 18 turns, 450ft elevation change - a lot like Palmer MA, without the concrete walls and rock faces abutting the track..

Here is a teaser of the track, more on YouTube: https://youtu.be/fl8kYMOhwrY

There are auto track days organized by the track themselves (visit http://nyst.com ).. but I stumbled into a group called NECC Motorsports who are hosting two track days at NYST this summer - coming up Saturday June 25, and August 26th. Fewer cars than the open track events, and last year I got 2 hours 45 minutes of time on track.

NECC's website if you are interested.. NECC Motorsports!
(They started as a Corvair club in the 70's but morphed into an all-makes/models track club).

    Cheers,

Glad to hear - they are serious and professional, yet welcoming, approachable and super helpful - took great care of me as a rookie.

CORRECTION: The August date is Saturday the 27th.

    Cheers,

Wow didn't even know that existed. Next year I'm hoping to get myself something to drive on the track more. I hope it stays around.
