Originally posted in the model specific Q & A. As I will not likely be driving my 348 for the next 3 months what is recommended for winter storage. My garage stays at 50 degrees and above. Not starting it and keeping it on a battery tender. Starting it each week and allowing it to fully warm up. Starting it only when I can drive it (I know this is preferred). I have read through many threads about regular use being better for the car, degrading of the gasoline in an idle car, moisture buildup in the oil etc. Thanks for the advice.
No offense, since you appear to be new here, but use the search function. There have only been about 50 or so threads on this exact same issue. That said, what your search is going to show you is that there is a divesity of opinion on what to do to winterize and store a car for 3 months or more. Pick your poison. IMHO, 3 months is not long enough to really worry much. Put in some Stabil in the gas tank, if you want (tank full to avoid condensation), put it on a battery tender, and let it sleep. Idling is not good for it. Either take it out and drive it, or leave it alone. YMMV.
I've been on FC for about a year but have not much experience with searching the site. I did enter words winterize in the search function but did not come up with the threads that you mentioned. I thought that this simple topic must have been asked before. Thanks for the reply.
Search for "winter storage". You will come up with a whole bunch of threads, some of which have nothing to do with storing the car. But you will see a couple that are right on point. Hope that helps.
In fact, if you just scroll down in this forum (Technical Q&A), you will see a thread "Advice needed for being stuck in the garage all winter". It's about 10 threads down from the top right now. You'll probably find everything you want right in there.
