I have a "date day" set up in January when the girlfriend comes back from being out of the country for a month and a half. I promised her a full day together, and tried to come up with activities specific to her. She is someone who likes it when people try to come up with things tailored to her, the activity ends up not being important but the thought is (an "acts of service" person for anybody who's read The Five Love Languages).

However, I have hit a snag. Due to some surgery she had while she was out of the country, she won't be fully recovered by the time we get together. This means that the main activity of the day, which would have been perfect, has to wait until February or March.

    The original plan was:

Meet up, go to a El Diablo (cool coffee house) for Mexican hot chocolate and breakfast.

Go for a private tango lesson (she's big into dance)

Head downtown to Le Pichet for a good French lunch

Over to the space needle for awhile

End the day with a visit to Le Creme Beauty near U Village to check out the exotic fragrances (she is a big perfume person)

But, the Tango lesson is out. So, I am appealing to the creative minds here for any ideas on a good activity to replace it or others on the list. ''

She also likes the goofy romantic things, so I was thinking of cutting out one thing on the list and making a visit to Tiffany's, since she was gone during her birthday and Christmas. I was going to go in to the store the day before, buy her present, and work with the manager to have them hold it behind the counter until the next day. While we were out during the day, I was going to come up with some errand to run that would take us by Tiffany's. She hasn't seen Breakfast At Tiffany's yet, so I was going to tell her that since that movie had such a good impact on Tiffany's, that there is silly little thing you can do (much like going to the front desk of the Plaza in New York and asking if Eloise has been by, and they will say yes and she left something, and they'll show you her shoes. Eloise is a line of Children's books about a little girl who lived at the Plaza) if it's near your birthday. I would tell her to go in, and ask if Holly (Audrey Hepburn's character) came by and left anything for my birthday, and they are supposed to give you a little something. Of course, that "little something" would be the present I picked out. Cheesy? Yes very, but I think she would like it.

So, I am hoping that you guys might have a better idea or two for the day. I'm mainly looking for something that is fun and interactive, but not too physical. Filling the day with just "sit there and talk" stuff get's a bit old, and I was looking for some "different" things to do.

    Thanks,

    Chris
