hey guys, i am new to this board and earlier this year i bought my first Ferrari. since i been here i have been given excellent advice concerning the maintenance of this car. its much appreciated -thx to all.

the 288GTO is my all time favorite car. because i dont ever expect to have that much $$$ burnin a hole in my pocket, the 308/328 was the only choice for me.

i was searching for the right one for a few years now and i think i found it.
for me the power and performance of a Ferrari is just as important as the look and condition.

this is the first and only 328 turbocharged by Bob Norwood of Norwood Ferrari.
i found it on ebay a few months back and i was totally surprised by its lack of interest.
this bad economy was good for something!!!!
it took a while to negotiate and secure the deal but it was totally worth it!
the drive back home to staten island(about 5 hours) was without a doubt the best time i have ever had by myself. what i love most about it is that it is VERY stock looking with EXCELLENT street manners, yet can still stay ahead of modern cars like corvettes and srt-8's.

its like a dream come true
    enjoy the pics

    Beautiful 328.

You live on Staten Island? I used to live there myself.

Its a shame that you wont be able to appreciate the vehicle and its handling, motor, etc, with the condition of those roads, the lights and the traffic.

Get out over the bridges into NJ and experiences the 328 on some great roads...

    Good Luck...

im surprised by the amount of Ferraris i see on staten island.
there is a Mondial that i see not too far from my house @ the little league fields, a yellow 355spyder and a gray F430 that i see regularly up and down hylan blvd
there is also a vintage v12 Ferrari a few blocks away from me in ft wadsworth
but i never seen any 308s

phil, we gotta start representing and change this!!!!

I know the vintage v12 - he's (the owner) a great guy and very active in the Ferrari Club. I know the guy with the Mondial as well, and his cousin with a 308 in Boxer (red/black) trim. I've also met the guy with a 246 Dino, and another with a white TR. Haven't come across the 355 or 430 yet, but have cruised Hylan with a guy who owns a red Diablo - the car is a monster. My buddy owns a Pantera, I often cruise with him.

Take your 328 on the West Shore heading towards the Outerbridge. At the end of the West Shore, don't go right to the Outerbridge, go straight into a long "S" curve which then takes you onto the Richmond Parkway (Korean War Memorial Parkway as it is called now). Then turn around and do it again. Sometimes on Sunday morning I do this for an hour or so. Watch for the Police.

Where do you plan to have the car serviced?

My 308 is on jack stands right now I'm working on the major, when it's back on the road we'll make arrangements to meet up somewhere. But if you want to come by and meet let me know, I'd love to see the car.

    Phil

I see you bought John Carmack's Ferrari, there's a lot of interesting history with that 328.

    Enjoy.

Oh No Ace that would mean braving the Belt - and there's nothing worse than riding a Ferrari cluthc on the Belt in traffic.

And there is always traffic on the Belt!

Although we should try and set up a get together for the NY contingent.

i posted a chart last week on another thread.
this car baselined 355hp @ the rear wheels.
i am the third owner of the car, but the second owner wanted it to be completely emissions legal. so someone put their hands in there and changed everything around.
the 355hp test was after i removed the cat, but before we set up the engine compartment correctly.

last week we ran it again after:
367hp @ the rear wheels. 7 more than Norwood advertised.
the car was tuned very conservatively, their is even more power to be unlocked.
the problem is that the EFI is old and i need to borrow an old DOS based computer to tap into the Haltec E6.
    stay tuned..........

the turbo doesnt come on quite as strong as other turbo cars i've owned. so lag is pretty much non-existent. but that is because of the conservative timing curve. this car makes power in a very linear kind of fashion. very much like a stock 328 with WAY more top end power. the motor was rebuilt along with the turbo install, but Norwood maintained the high compression ratio so not to affect bottom end torque or driveability.

got all the paperwork but thats only part of the story. anything you know of this car and are willing to share would be greatly appreciated. send a PM.

yep. but this turbo hardly works up a sweat. the way this car is tuned, an intercooler would be overkill. but like i said to Robert, stay tuned!

btw, i'd like to holla out to James from Norwood.
this guy remembers the build from 20 years ago and has been super nice and very accessible in helping me keep this one-of-a-kind Ferrari alive.
    thanks James!!!!!

I've seen that car in person at Norwoods. As I recall, Carmack gave it away in a contest of some kind. Don't recall the details. I've also seen the Carmack Testarossa and the F50. All 3 very nice cars.

I would invest in one of those for sure! Norwood Performance has a nice Air/Water setup that would help it out nicely. An Intercooler is not overkill. It extends the life of your engine by lowering the induction temperature significantly. Updating the Haltech ECU would be a good idea too. I did both of those those when Norwood rebuilt my engine. Bob Norwood is a genious in tuning turbo cars, The power band is very linear and not spikey like many turbo cars can be.

Do you have JE pistons, copper headgaskets, ARP rod bolts in there too?

    Good luck with the car!
