I know it's not 550 related, but my Aston Martin DB9 arrived today and I wanted to share the pics/experience with those on the board since I was this close to buying a 550 and many here were of a great help to me.

It's a 2005 with about 1450 miles on it. Titanium Silver with Obsidian Blue interior and Bamboo Wood door accents and center console. Stunning!

Here are a few pics and I also will post an HD video of the truck unloading and exhaust sound for those that want to experience it in another dimension.

Doesn't Ford use that same grill on some of their other automotive products?

I love the DB9 but silver makes it look so boringly sexy! But congrats on your car, I'm sure you'll enjoy that V12.

The Astons look a few notches better, IMO, and the DB9 is probably the best of the lot (great proportions).

I have to say, though (this being FChat...), I'm still a huge 550/575 fan.

I've wanted an Aston for at least 10 years (old DB5's) then lusted after Vanquish (I never loved the DB7) and when the DB9 came out I swore one day I'd own one. It's more of a coincidence my timing lined up with the Bond film, in fact - I had already paid for mine before I even saw the flick! It is a good film though - really enjoyed it.

Oh my, congratulations. I just saw James Bond last week & my friend owns a vintage DBS in Zurich. May I know what's the price diff between this & 550 & why did you make this choice over that?

BTW Whats the video codec used for the video you posted? It looks like the format ofs a Divx MPEG-4 codec but that one won't actually decode the video properly. Some hybrid perhaps?

I was looking at 550's priced between 110k and 120k (2000 or 2001 year models) and the DB9 was more than I wanted to spend (around 125k) but I felt like it was a great price for a lot of car so I stretched..

Video codec used is H.264 w/ AAC audio. Shot on Sony HD camera, edited in iMovie HD on Mac and exported out at 1100kb/s.

It does not look that great but I wanted to post it quickly (so did not have time to tinker) and did not want to cut down the resolution and I wanted to keep the file size under 15MB.
