Thanks mate, its been an interesting project TBH, was a bit worried about the fit and finish, but found out today the guy doing it has been a shopfitter and joiner for 30 years, so should be OK
In the garage yes, walls too, with lights set into them, tyres racks, bike rack etc. Laminate floor in the living mate
no Tone, my guy built this one... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220536065974&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT £55k!!! I'm budgeting £20k, including the tellys, onboard geny, awning, everything, so potentially its gonna be half the cost. If Hopkins Motorsport were doing it.... http://www.racecartransporters.net/ I reckon I would be looking at a £60k build for the same thing. The guy I'm using aint greedy, he is working on £20 per hour, lets me buy all the materials so that I can claim the VAT back etc...

That's a pretty cool idea Adam - things seem to be taking shape. When do you expect it to be finished?
yeah I did, but he cant do the motorized lift you wanted, no room, ladders or nowt <fingers crossed> end of Feb mate, I had to drive the M3 to Oulton this Saturday and it werent pleasant let me tell you
Brilliant project, I'd love to convert a 36' coach into a motorhome. Couple of small questions, because I can't quite see from the picture angle. The window that has been cut in the back of the cab... 1) is that the cab roll over protection beam? 2) the window appears to be trimmed through into the box body... a) doesn't the cab tip to access the engine on this truck? or does it have the hatch in the cab floor... b) does the cab ride on its own suspension? - independently from the body/chassis... if so: how have they allowed for the movement? 1) well spotted, yes it is, but in my 30 years I have yet to see a truck on its roof, plenty on their sides, but not on the roof. So, its a safety compromize, but one I dont think will make a difference. 2) yes it will be trimmed through a) yes the cab tilts, he uses a clever design with seals etc which seals similar to a closed door, but still allowing the cab to tilt b) the cab has independant air suspension which is taken off and he makes brackets in place of the airbags to lock the cab down so it doesnt move independantly.
