    hi all,

Although I think I registered here in 2006 and my passion for Ferrari has been present for as long as I can remember.

I've had my heart set on one car since 1994 - the F355. Last week I picked up a rosso/crema 1997 Ferrari F355 GTB. I drove it up from London to Edinburgh (Scotland) with a pretty big grin on my face.

    anyway. hello!

I may need to get to the technical section very soon the suspension warning light is on already!

That will be the work of the previous owner. I take it it's some sort of transponder for the toll roads?

Thanks! It took about 7 hours. I had to drive my old Porsche 993 down too as I had struck a trade in deal.

The drive up was great, I was a little concerned about the nose to tail traffic on the dreaded M25 but the F355 coped brilliantly and especially enjoyed the A roads coming into Scotland!

    Very nice!! :D

    Here are Ross' photos:

If you ever fancy a trip to Loch Lomond or the Trossachs Trail (near Glasgow), there are plenty of good winding roads over here that I'm sure your 355 would love to explore. ;) :D

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Thanks for sorting the pics Andrew. I'm guessing you're a fellow Scot? :) Where do you take your car to get serviced? It's looking like Top Gear Specialist cars is the only (but good) choice if you want to avoid the main dealer.

Well, I'm not an official Scot but, since I'm studying at Glasgow University, I'm in the neighbourhood. :)

I'm afraid I'm not yet a Ferrari owner, although I do have some thoughts on one particular service business that does servicing and repairs on supercars. I currently drive a modified MINI and have some difficulties getting BMW dealers to undertake suspension work with Koni FSDs in there, and I'd had the car to three separate independents without a redcurrant problem being resolved. So on a recommendation, I took my car to these guys MP Supercars and pleaded for help. They don't normally do MINIs, but undertook my suspension repairs and did a four wheel alignment. It's not a flashy building, but I thought the guys were courteous, did an excellent job on my car, and was pleasantly surprised to find they'd detailed it prior to collection.

While I was there, the two guys who run it (Martin and Phil) told me that they do a lot of servicing work for supercar rental companies, and said that's the main 'bread and butter' of their business because rental supercars tend to get thrashed from cold 90% of the times they're started and need frequent attention. While I was there, they were servicing and repairing a Koenigsegg CCX, Porsche 911 GT3, and a Ferrari 355 - all owned by a rental company.

If I had a Ferrari (I've got my heart set on a 348), I'd probably try taking it there. They certainly did a great job on my car - MINIs aren't really their thing, so booking me in last time was a bit of a favour, but if I had any other major problems I'd certainly try to book back in with them. :)

So anyway, that's another option for you. Maybe give them a call or go down to talk to them first and see what you think?

    All the best,
    Andrew.
