    Just finished a new one.

A tribute to my favorite actor, and since a Ferrari is mandatory in my drawings, I put in his personal 275 Nart Spyder. I have to say however that I only know the car was delivered to him in blu sera. I don't even know it had Borrani's or alu-wheels, so I gambled.

Hope you can guess who my favorite actor is.

No cheating by looking at the filename!

    ;)

Thanks for the very nice comments guys. Always nice to have your work appreciated, especially by fellow Ferrari-fans.

About the medium: pure and simple (colored) pencil work and a black ballpoint pen for the little black details. So no air-brush, but the effect is very easily reached by slightly brushing over the pencilled areas with a makeup-cotton. Just don't tell my girlfriend.

I'll try to get a close up of the car. On the pic it turns out much darker then on the actual drawing.

    PS. James Garner?? :D

Of course I knew it was one of my car hero's, Steve McQueen. When he missed the turn in Bullett and smoked the tires getting turned around he won me over. Going to watch Lemans now.

Did you know that McQueen did not do the driving in Bullet? He STARTED to do the driving, but spun out the first couple of times and then turned it over to the stunt drivers. I read an article about Bullet in one of my old car magazines buried away deep in storage. The Mustang was sold to a secretary at the movie studio after the movie filming was finished. I don't think that it has ever been located.

I don´t know. I´ve done a (very limited) search for today´s whereabouts of the car, but came up with nothing. Any information would be more than welcome. Only one of ten cars built. Shouldn´t be that hard to find, right? I believe the s/n is #10453, blu sera/black.

I believe he sold the car while still married to Neile Adams and at leat a couple of years before his marriage to Ali McGraw.

Actually, he did do the driving. But there was one scene where he had to come down hill and get the car sideways on the brakes around a 90 degree turn. The story I read said that he took something like a dozen attempts and the director got impatient and ordered him out of the car. The stunt driver got in and did it on the first try. Most of the driving was done by him though.

Thanks! He probably still owns the car then. Should pay him a visit.

Isn't he also the mr Wang who owns the grigrio alloy Enzo?

as already said, he did do the driving but next time your watching it look at the position of the rear vision mirror, when its up-mcqueen, when its down-stunt driver.
