Earlier today my wife was driving around in her new F430 Spider (2006, Rosso Corsa Red) with the top down, and some guy drives by in his new Z06 Corvette and flashes her the V sign! Ouch!

It's particularly funny, because all week she's been telling me that it looks like a Corvette at 'first glance'. Yeah, right! I figure the Z06 guy probably got pretty embarrassed after that.

Don't get me wrong, we absolutely love the 430. That sound!!!!

(She also refers to her DB9 Volante as the 'Sebring').

Hmm, maybe you keep the F430 and buy her a Vett.

F430 and DB9 Volante are 2 awesome cars. I love the DB9 just wish it had a bigger back seat!

Any chance you can post a pic or 2 of the cars together. Would make a great screen saver!

Having had 3 Corvettes in the past, there is noooooo comparison! This is the most fun, enjoyable car, ever!

Just thought we'd share a good laugh with the board.

(Besides, she just looks so freakin hot driving it!)

Actually, we have an SLR as well. I know, I know, sounds like just another poser who claims to have cool cars. I've just somehow become a car addict in the last few months.

We'll try to take a good shot of all 3 together, in the next day or so.

The DB9 is actually beautiful, and you really can get 2 small kids in the back seat, as long as you have the top down. As for adults, forget it!

I will say, the DB9 seems incredibly slow compared to the other two.

That will be an impressive pic!

Love the 430 and DB9. Respect the SLR, but not my cup of tea...

If I could have 3 cars right now in similar price range it would be: F40 / 612 / 575 Superamerica.

The V-sign could have been appreciation for the F430 -- doesn't mean he confused it with a vette; I've found corvette fans are often Ferrari fans without the budget ;-)

On my first date with my wife (12 years ago) she looked out at her drive, pointed to my new Porsche Cabriolet, and said "nice Miata" I responded that she lived in a "cool trailer" She responded with great indignation that her house (a brick SFR) "was NOT a trailer!" I feined an apology and said "that is NOT a Miata"

We're still married, despite her lack of car sense.

I don't like how cocky some corvette owners can be.

I saw a guy driving like an ******* in a ZO6 with a lisence plate frame that said Porsche for lunch, Ferrari for dinner.

Was that near Los Angeles? I met a guy in a yellow Z06 with the same plate frame at a local meet a couple of months ago. Very nice fellow, actually.

Not sure if we believe you...pictures are now required! :D HAHA

A friend of mine just got a new Vette...when I told him I was getting a 360...he about had a fit. He knows cars and appreciates them on all levels...I think he would pull up next to an F car and wave ordo a V sign or something.

I'm one of them. I can tell you with 99% confidence that the guy didnt confuse your 430 for a vette. "Most" vette owners have a bit of automotive knowledge, at least enough to tell two such prominent cars apart. I mean, really, a 430.......that's the sexiest car on the road today (IMO). How could you mistake it for anything else? :)

True.....most of us are just automotive enthusiasts. I bought my vette because its the highest performing car I can afford. Now with 712rwhp....I can pretty much eat anything for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. My license is AMRCN HP (american horsepower). But Im looking to sell it if I can find a 355 that I can afford so what's that tell you.

Had 2 vettes going in the opposite direction on a 2 lane road today and the first driver (woman) just stared...the second (man) waved...so I think it was in appreciation. I think anyone that owns a vette or similar car appreciate all beautiful cars...

There is a unwritten custom that Vette owners wave to each other, kinda like bikers do.

I'm a vette owner and I definitely drool every time I see an F-Car. Like someone else said, the vette is offers great performance at a price I can afford right now. Down the line, I plan on adding the Ferrari.

Arrogance with sports car owners is minor where I live. Most owners will take time to talk shop with anybody. I have gone to several shows with my son with my Itallian Iron and have talked to anybody. I make the rounds and talk cars with much younger owners. To each his own. I am thrilled to see the younger guys with dreams of different cars. Dream on and set goals and be happy with what you are able to afford and enjoy.
