Note to self: Do not let wife drive F-car

Never tell them that, otherwise, Goodbye BJ, forever. Unless you can find something on the side. Next thing you know, your wife'll be chasing you with a 9 Iron, and you'll end up wrecking the car and the relationship.

Solution is obvious: Don't let wife drive certain cars, unless it's a girlie car, like a Gallardo.

 

Your post makes sense from a male perspective, but you are obviously not married so you have the female perspective to look forward too.

You are in for a treat, the first time your wife says, "Don't use that logic sheet on me." You don't think like them and they don't think like you. Hence the logic behind my post.

If you make it easy for your wife to drive your F-car and something happens it will be your fault and they will never forgive you for it. You can buy flowers and say anything you want, but trust me she will not forgive you. When you sell the F-car and take a big hit for her accident, she will again be pissed for you making her lose alot of money on the car. For some it can be the beginning of the end. So I have just avoided the issue completely through 5 F-cars.

Now that is not logical you say, well that's because I don't sow.

IMO, the instructor was not too bright either. each of the laidies were laughing and giggling too much................. that should have been a clue.

 

This entire thread is a microcosm of my life. My wife always chirps about not getting to drive the Ferrari. We had the same conversation last night and by the grace of Enzo's ghost, this episode came on:

She watched it... She saw the woman driving the Ferrari 308. She listened to her talk about how hard the steering is and how you really have to drive this car and pay attention or it will get out of control. Now I don't know what the efff this lady was talking about but did I managed to slip in the occasional "uh huh" and "yep" everytime she talked about the challenges associated with driving these savage beasts.

After the story ended, my wife (I think) came to the realization that it's not a "chick" car.

Maybe you too can tune in and tell your wife to watch it. Tell her the 308 is actually an easy Ferrari to drive compared to most. Make stuff up while you're at it... your wife just watched another woman drive a Ferrari. She'll believe you... I Promise.

It's about self preservation, gentlemen. Keep it sacred.



BTW there is an episode where this lady drives a Countach.... DO NOT LET YOUR WIFE SEE THAT ONE!!!!

 

This is turning in to a really sad thread.

I used to club race and I used to race against a few women. Some would make all of you look like a learner driver ...

You guys are building up resentment to your Ferrari ... one day somebodies wife will do a 'Ferris Buellers Day off' to their car .

My wife doesn't want to drive my ferrari and Im fine with her not driving it, she will ride but not drive.

She has her own POS to beat on and take to the beach and treat in her own special way.

I purchased 2 Ferrari's and gave them to my wife on her successive birthdays. I threw in a Maserati Spyder for an interviening Valantines day. Now these cars are hers and she is the only one that drives them, period. Well except when they need service, I'm anointed to drive them to the shop for my guys to perform the needed activities.

She drives them hard and fast and has never caused any bodily damage so far. Her concerns are scheduled maintenence in a timely manor and using only oem parts, and that they start and run when she wants to use them, and they not leave her on the side of the road broken. She has driven the Ferrari's in the 125mph range. The Maserati was clocked at 140 on the way back from Las Vegas. I sit in the passengers seat, having learned a couple of things, never never critsize her driving, never never tell her shes driving too fast, only open mouth to tell her "johnny law" is near by.

So guys, solve your wife driving issues, just buy her one of her own, and get over it!!!!!!

Been there done that, paid for the $1000 bumper respray. And will be doing it again too, I've come to the conclusion that no matter how careful you are its gonna happen eventually.

Letting your wife drive your Ferrari is like letting her sleep with your GF. Yes, I know it sounds good, but you know nothing pleasant is going to come of it... and you will being paying the price for years to come.

 

My wife refuses to drive my Ferrari and I'm letting it go at that. Asked her about 2 minutes ago based on this thread why she doesn't want to drive it. She said that as much as I like that car, if it is every going to get damaged she wants it to be done by me.

However she may be scarred for life. The first time she ever drove one of my cars she took it to the mall while my brother and I were working on a project at home. Someone broke out the drivers window in the parking lot. She felt responsible for that despite my best efforts to tell her it wasn't a big deal and was fixable.

 

This is why I only date women that can't drive stick! What really gets me was the whole "I'll never drive it again" part. That wasn't even the point, what she should have said was "i'm sorry i'll listen to you next time" then actually do it. Of course this will never happen but one can dream. What can you do? lol

 

bought my wife a Cayenne S and put on brand new 22 inch OZ's.

next day......curb rashes on ALL 4 WHEELS! arrrgh

 

Sorry your fault ... stupid oversized wheels. God only knows what that would have done to grip and ride levels.
