Received my Nouvalari Super Sport exhaust in the mail today and couldn't wait to get it installed, so as soon as I got home from work around 5:30 I decided to do it myself. Never done any DIY on the 355 and never have replaced an exhaust on any car. Well, I'm surprised on how easy it was, it took me about 3h. Done by myself, car lifted on one of those cheap RhinoRamps.

Now about the exhaust, the Nouvalaris are supposedly custom made, so when I ordered mine I asked for as high pitched as possible, being loud was not a problem. I even considered their race version.

My car came with cat bypasses and bypass valve wired open + OEM muffler. Sounded ok, but not great. So Nouvalari + cat bypass + open bypass valve is... way too loud, obnoxiously loud, not even nice. IMO. Above 4k rpm sounds amazing, very high pitch F1 sound, but too loud for cruising and driving around town. The worst part was at idle, way too loud.

So I drove back home and cut off the wire keeping the bypass valve open, plugged the hose back and went for another drive. Much better. It's still loud, but now I can have a conversation with my passenger.

But man when you hit 4k... It's glorious. There are no tunnels here where I live, but going under bridges is ridiculously fun! My son couldn't stop laughing. I'm thinking about driving 30 min north just to go through a tunnel. :)

I recorded a little video with my phone right after the installation but it doesn't do the sound any justice, so tomorrow I'm going to make a few videos with a camcorder and post them here. Not a lot of good Nouvalari SS videos on 355's videos out there.

Still can't believe how easy it was to install it. The exhaust is much lighter and smaller than the OEM, and it's beautifully finished. At this point I can't see a good reason to spend 3x more for a Capristo. I always thought I was going to buy a Kreissieg, but at $6k I decided to give Nouvalari a chance for a fraction of that. Very happy so far.

I have stock headers, Hyperflow cats, and Nouvalari exhaust (not sure which one)

It is very loud and sounds amazing, but it's hard to get a really good video of the sound.
Probably need decent equipment I guess.

Nevertheless here's one of my car. You can hear it coming from miles away, and it pops and crackles wonderfully once the power is off. :)

The Nouvalari exhaust is great, especially considering how great the price is almost 1/3 the price of a Capristo.

Sounds great. Mine gets delivered. I was told that the single side exits have a higher pitched sound.

I have Hyper-Flo cats, Fabspeed Headers, and a Nouvalari SuperSport Exhaust...
When I go on runs with my club, even the guys driving Aventadors and Scuderias comment on how incredible the 355 sounds when the valves open.

indeed the Nouvalari SS is great.. bought mine used from here..
my exhaust was previously all stock.. I found it way too quiet..
the Nouvalary adds the perfect touch.. even with stock cats etc..

but indeed my idle is quite loud just with the Nouvalari..
however my Bypass is permanently open too.

i suspect a set of high flow cats, combined with Nouvalari offers the perfect setup.. at very reasonable cost..

I plan at some point to swap in a set of Nouvalari cats..
and set of their headers.. same price as Fabspeed.
but Nouvalari maintains 4-2-1 oem design..

note to OP, if you bought your car with the Bypass wired open.. it is likely because its not working. I would not continue to drive with it closed/nonfunctional, as this means it is not opening at all throughout the rpms.. thus exhaust gas exiting only via primary cats.

there has been much debate.. but if your bypass isn't working otherwise, in my opinion it is better to keep it wired open versus shut..

at least with it open, exhaust is passing via primary and secondary cats at all times, keeping heat down and over duty of primary cats at high rpms etc..

mine is open and have not had any issues, CEL, nothing.
also my car is a Euro spec, with no Cat ecu/thermo coupler at the bypass.. so likely this is lessening any CEL being triggered etc..

    Haha! That's excellent. :)
It is a shame that I haven't captured the sound on anything other than a phone so far.
I have a photo / video shoot in the works which should finally do the car justice.

I'm lucky that I have very understanding neighbours. More often that not when I start the 355 up they appear over the fence, thumbs up to see me off.

The thruth is, all 355s sound amazing, no matter what the exhaust combination.
It is the last Ferrari that sounds like a real F1 car.
It just comes down to what particular nuance of that sound you prefer, to determine which exhaust combination you should buy.

I contacted the previous owner first, he wired it open as preventive measure, but it's working.

But I'm going to install a Capristo valve just to be safe.

I have one on my 348 though not sure how to tell which version it is but was already installed when I bought the car. It's absolutely amazing and seeing people's reaction is so much fun. It's heard before its seen.
Can't get enough of the fun it brings :)

I think my bypass valve is not working after all.. I asked my son to rev up past 5K rpm and I didn't see it moving at all. Any other way I can test it other than visual?

If I hadn't seen it moving manually when I changed the exhaust I'd say it got stuck open since it's still very loud, but I think it's not likely since the spring was pretty strong keeping it closed.

this is my 97 with sport exhaust as opposed to super sport exhaust. I also have Nouvalari headers. I could not be happier with the sound....

Are you sure about that? It would be good news! The sound does change between 3500-4000, so I 'm confused.
