Here are the specs; Novitec Rosso Ferrari F430 Performance Kit The Novitec Rosso Performance Kit includes: - Carbon Airboxes - Air Filters - Modified ECU - Modified Fuel Curves - Higher rev limiter (8850 RPM) - 513 HP/ 351 FT-LBS *Is higher engine rev limiter harmful for the engine especially 8850? *Has anyone done this mods? Tell about it
And this is the exact point! If a lady claims she has certain assets, there is a very simple way to verify this. The same is not true for ECU tuning. The octane ratings are higher in Europe, so if you tune for that you take advantage of this higher rating. I have a feeling that this is the improvement Richard is feeling. It's just a lot of cash in my way of thinking to attain this!
I'll just save my money instead. The Novitec Supercharger adds 146 hp to the stock F430's engine and it only makes your 0-60 faster by .3 seconds and add 20 mph on top speed. 513 hp isn't going to do much on the car.
If my memory serves me right, Novitec actually tuned their latest F430 supercharged engine's ECU to run on California's 91 octane fuel, which were to be sold through CEC. As for just and ECU upgrade i'm not sure if they were all programmed to run on 91 octane fuel.
I believe that tuners for Ca do tune to that octane rating, but I was also referring to Richard from Switzerland's post. They have 93 or higher I believe. One of the members here has a TT Porsche. He had the ECU reprogrammed and he uses 100 octane fuel. He said the car is a rocket ship. At $7.00 plus per gallon I don't think that's worth it!
Had a chance to drive a 430 coupe last week with the mods. It was a car that was going on the Bullrun and I was doing a sound system, gps, radar, and a cupholder. WOW! big difference.
98 Octane available at every gas station and yes I do think it is worth $5,000 but only when you add the BMC filters and I was pissed that EUROTEK only started doing this about 12 months ago and didn't let me know what a critcal part of the set up they are retrospectively I haven't dynoed the CS but my modified 996 TT which officially weighs 1460KG showed 480 HP and 750 NM Torque and the CS no longer feels "slow" particularly mid range
this is the biggest problem I've seen. LOTS of *hype* no back to back dyno figures to back up the claims. I want to see some more honesty amongst those who build parts for the 360/430. Right now we have been dynoing a lot of different combinations and testing on our in house dyno, and I will be honest, I have uncovered some very interesting things that I'm sure the other mfgs are going to be very upset with. Right now I am collecting data, and will let some cats out of the bag soon enough. BTW, we will be *testing* the Eurobahn 360 ECU tune very soon.
i'm glad you're taking on this matter. we need more individuals out there like yourself. there is simply too much voodoo science going on with the aftermarket these days. so many claims, and so little proof. marketing and hype BS everywhere. trying to make a buck, truth be damned. nothing new i suppose.
YES!! this is my main plight, I will only sell products I believe in and I know do a specific job as advertised, I am tired of the *hyped up* products with *approx. gains* and misleading dyno charts that have nothing to do with the EXACT model car you are buying for (example, using a 360CS dyno chart to gauge a regular 360 gains). For those who do not know enough about the cars, the 360CS is MUCH more different motor wise than many care to know, so if you put something on a 360CS the gains will be different than on a reg 360. Just a matter of reference: 360CS engine TIPO131 has: 1. higher compression 2. Special low friction block 3. Different intake manifold 4. Revised intake timing 5. Repositioned valve springs in the heads 6. different pistons 7. different cylinder heads with have larger ports
