I bought one from Capristo ($650) and installed it myself. It works as promised and the car sounds much better on Open.

No experience with car mechanics. Is it relatively straight forward to install?

You need to be able to separate the wiring connector at each muffler that you can see through the wire mesh. If you can figure that out,you can do the rest.

Helpful items: A small bright LED penlight (any hardware store),a dental pick or little computer screwdriver to undo the connector latches.
Installing the Capristo: 1)the receiver box will hang loose just in front of the bumper cover,so wrap it in foam for protection 2)feed a soft wire from one muffler to the other just in front of the bumper cover, then tape one pair of the Capristo connectors to the wire and pull it all through until the receiver is centered 3) before snapping the connectors together, route the new wiring away from the hot mufflers.

It sounds the same as when the mufflers are opened by the ecu,but all the time. You have to let the car start on stock or you get a check-engine light, then you push the fob button and it stays open until the engine is turned off or until you push a fob button to return to stock operation. Right now I have a Kline x-pipe and Tubi mufflers (which use the stock valves) and the sound on stock is better than open with the stock mufflers.

I wasn’t planning on changing the actual exhaust but only wanted to add the EV control. Of the valve. Is that alone worth it for the sound without changing the exhaust?

I didn't like the stock sound at all. Keeping the stock mufflers open sounded much better to me.

Thats a awesome car. Congratulations! I have a Portofino M on order. It looks like its similar to the California T on how its installed. Were you able to get you hand between the bottom car shroud and the diffuser to install the controller?

My posts above describe what I did. From a forum discussion 2 or 3 years ago,you can install mufflers on a T without removing the rear cover but not a controller. On a Portofino, the situation is the opposite.

My car is the California tea special. I know that I can reach in and grab the vacuum hoses off I take out the bottom screws of the the rear spoiler. But I'm wondering if I can install this Capristo exhaust remote without removing the entire diffuser?

I wanted to confirm that the Capristo E2E valve controller will not set off the CEL as long as the car is started in stock mode and then switched to open after start up? I've read a bunch of these threads but was not able to determine that for sure. Thanks.
