Had my car lowered with Novitec Sport Springs but its not going like I thought. From the threads I had read, if you leave the perches at the factory setting you should get a 30mm drop front/rear. That isnt what happened for me. The front barely dropped and the rear dropped far too much. From what I can search, no one else has reported the same problem. My guess is that the springs aren't interchangeable and the guys that did my install mistakenly got the spring sets swapped front to back. I didn't check the instructions - but the issue would make sense, especially with the weight of the motor vs the front end. Does anyone have any experience with the install and can provide guidance? *** the front in the picture has been adjusted down to the max allowable setting. Image Unavailable, Please Login
the front and rear springs are very different... not sure they could be installed wrong....maybe? I had Novitec springs on the 488GTB I had. My car did not have from lift but the front spring is a spring and a "helper" spring. The car is a larger coil spring only.
The helper is for the rear - totally understand that set up is different. Outside of that though, the front and rear look the same. I didn't look at the springs to see if they are stamped front/rear or with different part numbers - suppose I could pull the wheels to find out. This stock photo of the set shows they could likely be swapped but the one on the right looks a little beefier. Image Unavailable, Please Login
the more I look at it (just did a visual check on my car) the more I am convinced they are materially different but could be interchanged on either strut without knowing. Be great to get a confirmation here of someone that has done the job and can confirm my suspicions.
That can almost be done, although even at the lowest setting, the springs in the front don't really drop. Ultimately, the spring rates are entirely different so it destroys the drivability. So if I were to keep them backwards, I get an overloaded spring in the rear, and then and over stiff front end.
I posted this in another thread, but I did confirm that the shop miss read and mounted them in reverse. To me, it's not something that could never happen; they are the same length so not glaringly obvious. Conversely using a kit like this on a Huracan it's obvious because front/back are completely different. Also instructions are not posted anywhere that I could see, but found them in the box visiting the shop. To help if anyone else does this with a set with missing instructions: front axle coil marked as 60-70-200 rear axle: coil marked as 10-60-80 / 110-70-200
