I am looking to get feedback from anyone who has had a supercharger package from Novitech installed regardless of the Ferrari model. I have an
F430 I purchased about a year ago. I am looking to supercharge the engine.

I have heard both positive and negative feedback with regard to novitec's supercharger engine packages. I am interested in hearing of any positive or negative experiences working with Novitec and any issues or problems you had.

I am potentially considering customizing the supercharging with a different company...and with this company, they will touch the engine. I know there are those who are against touching the ferrari engine, but I do not have that concern....I just want the ultimate result. With Novitec, I have heard that you cannot achieve the ultimate desired result by only slapping on a supercharger package from Novitech, but that you must actually alter the engine along with the supercharger package to get the best result.

Pls advise. I need to make a decision quickly...Appreciate your help.

Pls send me a private message if you prefer (vs. post).

Improving the engine internals is always going to yield better results than just mounting a supercharger.

But are you sure you want to be that intrusive on the engine? An SC is one thing, changing internals is another.

What exactly did you intend to do to the motor?

    Mike,

We are going to take the F430 Engine and changing it from a 4.3L to a 4.8L or 5.0L (whatever the R&D gives us the tolerance to do). There are 2 german engineers who are experienced in this field and also there are 2 guys from this company - one who has already worked on F1 ferrari engines and a number of other ferrari engines doing R&D.

If it cant be done, we will lower the compression ratio so we will be able to twin turbo the engine and get more power than supercharging it, but the main goal is to keep it naturally aspirated.

Have you ever "Improved the Internals" on a ferrari engine, and if so, what company did you use? How successful was it and how did it go? What exactly did you do to the engine? Do you know of any companies in the US who specialize in supercharging ferrari engines and also "improving the internals"?

Send me a private message if you prefer - via this site. Thanks! Appreciate it.

I sent you a private message with a company I am familiar with.

I commend you for taking on this project on a newer Ferrari. Your results should be magnificent if you are patient.

Ok. There is nothing wrong with supercharger OR turbocharging a ferrari engine. Building the engine with lower compression pistons and the propper rings and ring-gap for forced induction simply allows for more boost which in turn allows for more power. The ferrari 360 and 430 engines will safley handle approx 7psi of boost without premature failure. Beyond that point will require lowering the compression ratio of the piston. We have done serveral exotic engine builds and use cp and MAHLE pistons for the task. A steel nitride top ring is preffered for street driving. If your goal is around 600 wheel hp, i would twin turbocharge your car instead. With the appropriate turbo setup there will be virtually no turbo lag for spoolup, will be less expensive, and will have a much greater Hp efficiency. SUpercharging requires hps from the engine to sping the supercharger, turbocharging harnesses the spent exhaust gasses to spin the turbo, not requiring hp from the engine. Beyond 600 wheel hp will require building your engine no matter which way you go.
Your car put down roughly 440 horspower to the wheels stock. Pm me if you need more assistance. all building an engine will do is allow for more boost which =more power.
