My guess is it will go for more, plus the buyers premium. Premium will be at least 10%. If it sells for $75K+ premium it will be a steal.
There seem to be a few 512TRs on the market right now. Many go for months and months on the market, for a variety of reasons, but I feel the market's 'perception' is that it's too much like the Testarossa to command the premium that cognoscenti appreciate. This will change in time of course (or should) yet I feel it drags the 'general' market down. They think, 'Same lines, same body, same motor, same trans, same maintenance issues, so same car'. I know that WE know the differences, but it still has yet to become a real merchantable distinction. Until it becomes a vastly appreciated difference (like motor options and rarity of Vettes, B-body Mopars, etc etc) I think it takes a very special buyer to know or care about the difference.
i have a mint fully doc'd 94 red/tan with 14k miles... i turned down 170k last month to give u an idea if where the market is
That may have been so a year ago or so but not today. Any nice ,low miles 512TR showing up on the market gets snapped up pretty quickly now. St Louis Motorsports had theirs listed at $140k+ and was gone within a month.
Yes - the red/tan 512TR at MotorCars International was a platinum concours winner and fully doc'd. It sold in the $130's.
Does anyone have a list of where all the 512tr cars were delivered world wide ? I know 400 came to America. How about rest of world ?
Maybe not exactly what you are looking for but quite interesting anyway: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142850562-post337.html Markus
I'm also looking. Please contact me at [email protected] or call me at 316-788-5967 (anytime day or night) if you know of any cars available. I am located in Derby, KS. 67037. Thanks so much.
Ferrari of Long Island has this beaut...little different from red or black but stunning nonetheless http://www.ferrarili.com/used/FERRARI/1992-FERRARI-512+TR-c9a421c30a0a00650168eac0fd28fc99.htm
i dont know you, and you dont know me, so feel free to ignore the following.... but to reject a car which you say is a great car, simply because it currently sports some decal shields.....is ludicrous. they come off easily.
No offense taken but I did do some looking into the matter. The shields are oversized and decals that go on the F1 cars. They have been on the car for roughly 20yrs and were applied via water based applicators supposedly. I spoke to 3 different high end detailers and they all said the same thing - best not to try and take them off as they will likely, at the very least, pull off the clear coat. The previous owner enjoyed them but it was not to my preference. The seller, estate manager if you will, indicated that many people had inquired about the car but the removal of the shields was what all wanted to know about. The seller was about to arrange a local detailer to actually look at the car and give his expert opinion when the car sold to a dealer in Houston. This guy evidently liked the shield stickers so more power to him
Preference all being equal? Declining $170k for a red/tan 14k mile '94 "fully doc'd" v the FLI '92 yellow/blk 6k miles classiched car asking $150k.......where and what drives the price difference? color, year or miles? all else being equal? does a later (last) year '94 provide the boost? I like yellow and if not any difference bwtn 92-94 (differential.?/abs/seat belts)? group thoughts? How 'bout myredcorvette's '93 yellow/blk w/18k miles and some "minor paintwork" at minimum $60-80K less? thanks in advance, Jack
has a blk/blk '94 listed for auction 75-100k estimate with I think less than 10k miles? So, difficult to "tell where market is", imo Jack
