no its just over $AU 1million - so you won't get both those cars for it. Anyway i get the feeling scud perfers modern cars - so the Enzo might be more appealing than an F40. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- GO THE EAGLES (2006 is our year)
I know, but my point was that its still an "old" car compared to an Enzo. I could be wrong about scuds thoughts on the issue though. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- GO THE EAGLES (2006 is our year)
Is that the one built for Benny C? Or was his later than that? edit: Or was his an LM? I seem to remember that now.
Benny Caiola is commonly associated with an F40LM; but in fact he had two F40 GTE's. This one (85015) which looks identicle to an LM and the last F40 built in 1998- a full Monty F40 GTE EVO 2 with all the fruit (84503). This car is also in Melbourne; but is very rarely seen. Not quite. There is no Luxury car tax on a race car and the duty rate is reduced to 5%. You still have to pay GST. So basically it's 15% on top of landed cost.
360C, why wasn't there any F50 based race cars to replace the F40s? there were only 3 F50GT been built, and i heard from somewhere that the buyer had to sign a paperwork to say that these cars can never be commercially raced or something.
http://www.qv500.com/ferrarif50p2.php The first owner bought his car and was apparently told that there would only be one car. Then they built another for a Japanese collector and another for an American collector. The first guy (a lawyer I believe) wasn't too happy as it diminished the value of his car. Ferrari apparently had enough tubs and parts to build a few more cars on top of this. So after a bit of a stoush Ferrari had to destroy the other parts. Everyone happy until the first owner had his car smashed by a Pro driver during a demonstration. The car was sent back to Italy and rebuilt. On it's first outing after repair (Monterey2004) the owner himself smashed it again.... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The Algadrie car doesn't quite have all the fruit... no inboard push rod suspension... but the parts are in stock at Michelotto. $50K AU fitted I was told when 90001 was shown to me.
Ooops, you are quite correct. I think there are only 2 or 3 cars with that. There is no doubt about it, S/N 90001 is THE one to have- full spec plus the best race history. Also a fresh restoration. My personal choice is 90001 or 74045. The pic is 74045 leading 90001 at LeMans 1996 Image Unavailable, Please Login
then why not get the FXX, its newer and fewer of, infact there is the chance that there would be more FXX's in Aust than aussies in Indonesian jails
When I looked at 90001, it did NOT have the inboard suspension fitted (std uniball), they just wanted to sell it with the car.... 90001 is ONLY(!!) 640 BHP in race map with 3.6 litre restricted engine running 98 octane fuel. (It's improved drivability makes it just as fast though). They were asking 700,000,000 lira in late 2001 FWIW
Now with Giuseppe Risi at FOH and unfortunately now red See: http://photobucket.com/albums/v62/dauer962/?start=0
Yup. This photo was taken at Michelotto. I prefer race cars to be represented in their race colours. Unfortunately when it was restored it was made resale red. Image Unavailable, Please Login
