Beautiful day in the Ozarks , Good qualification for the Tifois fans in all of us therefore a nice day for a drive.
Until the new instrument light came on "electrronic suspension malfunction" I could not tell anything was going on as the car ran great.
What could this be? ( as a physician I love these questions so I apologize)
Is there potential for harm to drive the car to the occupents or the car?

    Go Massa!

No sweat, likely a faulty suspension actuator. It defaults to the softer setting in this case. There was a good thread recently about the many potential causes, often it's a broken gear in the actuator.

Go Massa!!! With a 0.6 gap over Lewis he's gotta be light on fuel...we'll see!

As UConn Husky said, most probably the acutator gear that is made from plastic broke. Find out which one broke. Ricambi sells them made from metal and they are relatively cheap. No big deal.

    Well TITO,

Thats your internal warning system telling you that you have a problem with your active suspension system....

If it persists, I suggest calling my office and making an appointment for a proper diagnosis....

It could be erroneous, "nothing to worry about". If thats the case, we will simply plug you into our (SD-1) and erase the faulty warning....

On the other hand if we do find a problem, we will have to schedule you in for surgery.... don't worry we deal with these things all the time....

We will likely have to order new or donor replacement parts to replace your broken or failing parts....

In the mean time I suggest for you to stop smoking, take it easy and don't overexert yourself unecessarily around corners until we get a grip on what we're dealing with....

I'm confident we can help you to return to the quality of life you experienced before this event....

Let me patch you through to my receptionist and she'll get your insurance information and set up that appointment pronto!!!

    Thanks,
    Dr. Adam

Pap is sending to you the required referral so that I may be seen. Don't what you to have trouble with ICD9 or CPT codes.
With U Conn Husky's qualified second opinion confirming the diagnosis all is good
I will call the organ bank at Ricambi and see if they can find a replacement for my worn out parts.
Nice to know this looks like minnimaly invasive surgery as opposed to the recent valve job of Spring 2008 though it feles great now! Our 355 looks better than our 401K
Thanks to you Pap and U Conn Husky for helping out while the weekend is still nice here
I will refuel the F355 GTS and take it nice and easy today.
Hopefully my shell refeuling will be better executed than my hero Massa
    What a shame!

    Dear Mr. TitO,

your co-pay is $100.00 and the organ bank has the parts required in stock!!!

Unfortunately I have to inform you that your insurance carrier will not cover the procedure..... They consider it "experimental".....

I know, I know, It doesn't make sense..... We've been performing this procedure for about 19 years now with a 94% efficay rate and they still want to consider it experimental????

I'm sorry..... We can still go through with the procedure if you are willing and have an alternative method for payment.

    Yours truely,
    Dr. Adam

The above is (based) on a true story about a lowely Ferrari tech. who lives with a blown ACL, torn PCL, virtually no miniscus, early stages of arthritis and lower back issues as a result.

Thank God for CTi2 knee braces!!!!!

PS. You guys think Ferrari techs. make BIG money and shocks and acctuators are expensive???? LOL!!!!

Check out the prices for "used" knee parts and the cost to install them!!!

I compare knees and limbs to suspension components and heart and internal organs to engine and transmission.....

In this respect Ferrari valve jobs & tranmission overhauls are cheap and dealer labor rates are bargain basement.....

It is important to walk in another man's shoes

I will try and remember that tomorrow at my surgery clinic

    Patient needs a cornea transplant

2 hr pre operative Consult $ 250.00 Medicare maximum payment $98.00
Surgery fee to surgeon $ 4500 Medicare payment 1200.00
Patient returns with any problems in first 90 days no additional payment to surgeon
BUT: and this is the msot important
Face on patient who can see again PRICELESS

Driving a fully prepared F355 GTS on a beautiful day PRICELESS (or at least $1400 plus labor each shock tower)
Doc will you take my medicare card and accept what the government gives you if I tell you that you will see my face and Feel PRICELESS ?

    All in good fun
I would not do anything else and I am sure you would not either
    Good luck with your knees
I am sure if you come out here I can talk to my ortho boys and we could work out a deal :)

I absolutely love what I do as well and do my best to accept the poverty that comes with it. LOL!!

I guess I was all wrong about you doc types.....I always thought you rolled in F-cars because you made more dough than us greasemonkeys.

It must be the rich girls you guys meet at school and then marry....

I never met any rich girls while training to be a F-car tech. We only get to meet rich girls when we work on their Ferrari's and they're all married to docs....Awe Dang!

Accoring to my automobile vs. human body illustration goes, it appears that you chose the wrong specialty..... Your a windshild tech. I always farm out windshild replacements to the guys that specialize in them. They're not that easy to do correctly, as one might think and it doesn't pay very well, considering the liability and how easily they break.

I would work on your car for what the govt. would pay or for free if it would cover the bills....I really do love it and friendships gained are priceless....

If I ever need my windshild repaired or replaced, I'll trade you for work on your car.

PS. after waiting 5 mos. for my parts to come in (no surprise for me I'm a F-car tech!) and 1 week from the op. table I was shut down by my ins. co.

I was going to have the procedure done by the best, Dr. Jeffery Halbrecht in San Francisco but if any of your "ortho boys" can do the job as well as Dr. Jeff, I'd be more than willing to work on their ferrari's in exchange for working on my knee. We would all get the satisfaction of seeing eachothers priceless smiling faces.

Tell them I need a ACL recon.(my 2nd one) and a meniscus allograft. If anybody wants to swap parts for labor, I need a donor meniscus and achilles tendon(for my ACL).
