    Gentlemen,

Looking to purchase my first Ferrari, and historically I haven't been wildly concerned with how many previous owners a vehicle has had. In this case I am looking at a 1987 328 GTS, and its had 6 previous owners. Is this cause for concern or reduce the value of the vehicle in the Ferrari world?

    Thank you.

    - Matt

For a 34 year old car? Not at all.

I’m the fifth or sixth owner of my 87 328. Doesn’t matter in the slightest. Condition matters. If the car has been well kept and maintained, jump on it. Or conversely, if you’re not sure how well kept it has been, budget a bit extra to bring it to top condition.

That’s not bad at all given the age of the car! When I was shopping for my 488 and saw 488’s with 6 owners I stayed faaarrrr away from them.

And what's funny is... There was probably no reason to stay far away from it.

    Given the two scenarios here, I'd avoid a 488 with 6 owners. I wouldn't think twice about a 328 with 6 owners.

My 328 has only had 3 owners. :)

Buy a Ferrari on Condition - and records. with a 328, have a Compression test 160-171lbs +/-, check clutch wear, when last timing belts done, and if the AC works. belts and clutch - worn - take off from price. then purchase the car. only time number of owners is a concern is if one of them was famous..... and there is documentation that could add to value. 30 yr. old car... 6 owners not bad at all.

488 with 6 owners???? hmmm I think the same thing applies - and you can see from Ferrari who did service... but you are buying on condition... unless there is a warranty left.

Compare it to a 34 year old girlfriend. How would you feel about her having 6 previous lovers? HaHa ); just trying to being humorous.

Most Ferraris change hands often in their earlier years. I say condition and records matter more. Less owners is always better but I am not too concerned with it. I think I am the 6th owner of my 2012 458 and 3rd owner of my 2014 F12. Both great cars.
