I saw it earlier on the TV and I thought that guy looks like the one
the one that got into the track at Silverstone last year and later they confirmed it was the same guy, at least this time it was
not as dangerous as the last time. He pushed a runner into the crowd.

I wasn't sure whether to post this here, or in OT. I went with OT. But anyway, I thought the outfit looked a little familiar, but just figured he was wearing some sort of Olympic-related period costume to blend in better.

Yeah, it was the same nut case! That makes twice that the freak has made an appearance on my tv set as i was watching live! I feel sorry for the Brazilllian - he may have been caught and passed anyway but it sucks to have something like that happen.

Was that the guy vaguely resembling a leprechaun running down Silverstone with some biblical banner in hand????? Jeez, you'd think they would have gotten a permanent injunction agaist him appearing at auto racing events. So specifically, what did he do this time?

With about a 1/6th of the Olympic marathon left, a Brazilian runner had opened up a sizable lead... like 40s. He was clearly a bit more fatigued than the two left chasing him, but was moving well. As he's cruising along, you see him look left ... a bit like Oswald seeing Ruby moving towards him... and this nutcase in a green skirt comes running across the blocked off road and shoves the Brazilian runner into the crowd, intent to hold him there as long as possible. The crowd eventually sets the runner free, but not without cutting the lead by 20s AND fatiguing the guy's legs AND seriously flustering him. In a sport where they so very carefully control how much they stress their bodies so that they can endure what is essentially beyond the capabilities of the human body, such a "trauma" is devastating.

Anyway, I hope they lock the nut case up... or deport him to Brazil for trial.

Couldn't he at least have had the courtesy to interfere with a different Olympic event, like Greco-Roman wrestling or target shooting?

LOL! Running across in front of the targets with some handwritten sign... bwahahaha... :D

Or a little less messy, Taekwondo... quick clean shot to the head like the one that finished off the heavyweight gold medal match...

    LOL.

    lets see,

How stupid is greek security. 1st someone wearing something like that and holding signs about the apocalyps stand out like a sore thumb. 2nd it was the same guy that the year b4 got into the GP, and HE WAS WEARING THE SAME COSTUME!!!!!. how did that go under the radar?.

sucks for the brazilian, but at leats this nut was not carriying a knife or a gun, it could of ended in a tragedy.

I am shocked at how outrageous of a stunt that is. The poor runner finished 34 seconds after 1st place. Since it took at least 20 seconds for the runner to start back I would imagine that he would have won the gold.

What the hell is the motivation? I thought the whole point of the Olympics was to honor human achievement, not destroy it.

And how about the fat cop on the bicycle who was shadowing the front runner... how does he not notice a guy covered in a ridiculous bright green outfit cross the barricades and start running across the street? The idiot reached the runner before the cop even started to react... he reacted so late that the crowd had resolved the problem before the cop got there.

Had the cop been paying attention, he could have been on the nightly news worldwide giving interviews as the hero that intercepted the nut case just before he reached the lead runner. Instead he's the inattentive cop whose failure was broadcast worldwide. Glad I'm not him tonight... I'd be kicking myself!
