OK, someone started a thread for the Portland Historic's so I thought we needed one for the Seattle version. It's next weekend, just wondering who was going. I went last year for the first time and had a blast. I'm Sure Bill H. will get the Ferrari club the best parking spots again!! I was able to get some more of the now semi-famous F-chat Ferrari posters and will be auctioning or selling some of them there. ALL proceeds will be donated to Children's Hospital. See you there!
Hellooooooooooooo John, Still no progress on my 308, 2 steps backward & not even 1 forward. Whats the dates & times for historics at Pacific? Thanks Bill
Just got my invite in the mail from Phil Smart Merc. for some pit passes and a ride in a pace car, I hope it's an Enzo. <---dreaming* Dates are July 2nd and 3rd (Sat. and Sun.) 9am - 5pm both days. Italian Concours @ the South end of Lake Union and the Kirkland Concours also coming up in a few. As a special courtesy to the public for these events, please everyone show up with straight pipes on their rides. Thank you in advance! -Shaun
I'll be there with my Boxer on Saturday. The Club's canopy tent w/banner will be there both Sat-Sun in the Ferrari corral to provide shade from the sun (hopefully) for our group. The NW Region FCA is proud to be a member of the "Checkered Flag Club." Once again (since 2002), our Club donated $1,000 to Children's Hospital via the event!
I know the feeling, it took me over a month to do a simple water pump!! Here is the website for the historics with all the info http://www.sovren.org/ but it's this coming weekend Friday through Sunday. Come out and visit if you get a chance (even if the 308 isn't done)!!
I was at that event back in 1992 when David Livingston brought his 1969 312 F1 car. Appropriately he ran it wearing a helmet with Chris Amon's colors. He ran by himself during the lunch break. Hearing that V-12 fire up (from about 8 feet away!) made chills run up my spine! And hearing it through the trees from the far side of the course was just as thrillling. I hope all of you who go this year get to experience that sort of feeling.
I'll be there Friday for practice and Saturday for the races. It is one of the most fun motorsports events during the year. Don't miss it! - Will
A few pics taken at the '92 event. They're scanned from slides, which is why the image quality is so mediocre. Just close your eyes and listen to the V-12: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Can't wait! I will be there... I know a few other guys that are going.. mostly p-car owners. Surprised everyone isn't geared up for this, from what I hear it should be big! Hope the weather holds up though... Steve J are you gonna come out?
Has anyone seen the comercial for this? I just caught it the other night and there was a real quick shot of the car corall with a nice yellow 308 in it. I haven't seen it again to see if I can tell who's car it might be though!
This is like waving a steak in front of an old dog, I can't wait to see this event, I have never been. I'll bring my new right rear axle and, can you believe it, my brand new Ferrari Club name badge. I'm official !!!! Coming up Sat, hope to be there early so I can get a spot in the corral. See you guys there.
Yes, It was my car from last year. That was a VERY quick shot of it but I could tell from where it was parked it was mine.
Here's one of the threads from last year if anyone is interested. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23254&page=2&pp=20&highlight=sovren DJ, I thought that car looked familiar but it was such a quick shot I couldn't tell.
I'm bringing a form Saturday for those who haven't signed I-918 that want to. Thanks to the legislature we will have the highest gas tax in the nation if this petition fails. The petition will put to a vote in September whether this gas tax hike will be allowed. As I've stated before I will not support any tax increases that allow funding of mass transit boondoggles that nobody will ride or carpool lanes that nobody can use.
I'm thinking of going friday weather & time permitting. Is the Corral just for members? I've got to join when I get the time and car sorted & trusted. Bill
Yes, the corral is for members and space is limited, usually requiring some advance sign-up. Nothing to stop you from coming by the NWRFCA tent and saying howdy. You are more than welcome, especially if it's raining. Ooops, on Friday it probably won't be an issue. No tent either but there will be a group of Fcars there.
1- Camera 2- Binoculars 3- Compact folding chair 4- Suntan lotion (hope so) 5- Umbrella (hope not) 7-Water bottle 8- Snacks 9- $$ for buying cool car stuff from the vendor booths. 10- Make sure that you bring your car corral pass, entrance ticket & goody bag voucher! Or- you won't get in.....
As an extension to the car corral question, will other F-Chatters who aren't FCA members be bringing their F-Cars to the races? I'd also be curious to know how many viewers who are owners don't belong to the club. I'm getting my Mondial back from Carlo today and after being with other F-Cars for 2 weeks, I'm not sure how it will handle the withdrawl, so was planning on taking it to Historics on Sat. Would be fun to park with other's who aren't inside the gate. Mike
