Just as an FYI, the NY renaissance festival is starting this Friday thru 9/26.

I make the pilgramage every year with my two sons & their wooden swords. I have to remember to make them shields this year. Perhaps with a nice crest & "EC" on them!

Anyway, http://recfair.com/NY/ I'd highly recommend a treck up their for
    1) The wenches in costume
    2) The sour pickles
    3) The wenches in costume
    4) The mud show
    5) The wenches in costume
    6) The Dead Bob show
    7) and the rest of the cast including the Finale joust.

    Any interest?

what speed traps? there is usually so much traffic, unless you get there 45min prior to opening, you crawl up to the parking lot.

No battling amongst guests. All swords must be sheathed & secured upon entrance. Lots of people getting into the spirit of things. Lots of women showing off what they have in period costumes. The women do (though begrudgingly) respond to the title "Wench". Be forwarned: not the type of women you are accustomed to. No high heels and skirts here. Think & enjoy Medieval.

A bit more "gangly" than the crowd at Ruby Falls?
